  1. I started out as shield which was ok damage was steady pressure and storm is nice when you have it but can also end up killing you if your careless. I switched to assault at 30 which has given me some great damage running plasma cell at 39 I do very well and sometimes I make 40+ kills. I don't do much that didn't do when I was shield except for guard which I find has killed me more times than its worth as I constantly pug so heals are rare and inconsistent. I am constantly taunting or using my harpoon to pull the ball carrier or or separate a sheep from the herd so my team can get a easy kill. I intend to finish as a assault tactics hybrid which will have a good balance between utility and damage.
  2. biochem is without per the best prof every other prof you can think of ultimately is worthless while biochem stays consistently useful all the way through that said once you have your reusables crafted I would and have droped diplomacy for slicing as at high levels everywhere I go I seem to find nodes for it. Vendor bought stims do not compare to crafted they are far better.

Welcome to the "Why Has My Melee Pet Got A Ranged Stat Society" your not alone in this problem smugglers and consulars have the same issue and it seems to be a disconnect planing somewhere down the line someone decided that some melee would use aim but then forgot to do anything about itemization a lot of people are hoping that this will be changed untill then your stuck with either crafted items or shop bought greens. I am hoping for a change to strength as the main stat and the allowance of vibroblades which are more conmen.

I hope that there is more story to come as I would like to become king of some small back water planet guarded by my wookie army getting foot rubs off my muscle clad zabrak maid while and while Corso works away in the fields I can admire my mon carmri trophy hanging on the wall. (I hate Guss he emotes far to often "I heal you with jedi power" gets very grating) I will take to smoking a pipe and telling stories to the dozen children I have had while Risha runs things.
  5. the op made some good points Range This class needs a built in snare really badly we are very easy to LOS a change of legshot to it's scoundrel form of Tendon Blast 50% snare over 6s with added 30m range would solve a lot of problems, Before you cry op remember that sages get exaclty that skill so why can't we. Cover Cover is a pain but it's built into the class so you have to live with it although personally I hope they ditch it. Risha can do the same basic things that I do but with the advantidge of being able to stand up and move around why does my pet better have a better skill set than me? DPS my damage is fine but its not much better than any other class either however that said if I am meant to be a imovible object then could I get a extra 5% on everyone else pls its not like I have a lot of utility on this pure dps class. Lack of Escapability in a ranged class There are escapes but you need them all to be up at the same time or your finished. I would like to trade Dirty kick for the bounty hunter skill concussion missle pls. I know it has a 1.5 sec build up but it also has a 30 m range and is a 1 min mez which would be far and away more useful to the class than a 4 sec stun melee range stun which barley gives enough time to escape or reposition. This is the main problem of the GS class Scoundrels got the better utility while we just got the bits that were left over from the main smuggler tree plus 30s kb that has firing issues.
  6. I am levelling into Taugrim's "Iron Fist" spec it's quite tanky and does decent damage with good utility I started by putting my points into shield and I am now putting points in tactics. I have ran Jorgan the entire time with little down time. I tried assault for a while but it was too squishy and running with Dorne means slower kills as her damage is low.
  7. This If they are a real bad guy I kill without a second thought if they are just some random idiot who did something stupid I tend to let them go. I have played 6 class stories now and I feel that I am not going to please anyone but myself even if it means loosing out on points with my pets.

Scoundrel is by far a better class than Gunslinger @ 50 I now bitterly regret choosing Gunslinger over scoundrel I was suckered in by the video that Bioware put out for the AC it looked really cool in reality it isn't. All your good damage is done while in cover this is the heart of my problem cover is a gimping mechanic that gets in the way. Scoundrel +'s Self healing. can spec to be main healer Stealth, This is a huge tool and allows you to get around and quest with ease. CC Tranquillizer dart is a really handy tool plus all normal smuggler cc Very mobile Scoundrels -'s Squishy 10m range Single target orientated. Gunslinger's +'s 35m range when in cover on some skills. Great single target damage and some ae skills can spec for more including a 3 sec nade which is very nearly spamible. Gunslinger's -'s Squishy Your a turret in a game that likes to drop a lot of ground target ae. As a turret you also suffer line of sight issues, your target may move causing you to move and lowering your damage out put. Cover bugging out and causing the target not to be visible although it is right in front of you is another los issue. Your the favourite target of everyone with a glow stick. you have some defences but they are on long cool downs and once blown your as good as dead. your only real defence is not getting noticed. Everything you can do a Sage/Commando can do just as well while keeping mobility and bringing some heals. I'm only down on the class because after playing other classes I find it to be sub par compared to them and this is just my opinion.

Quell Instant Heat: 8 Cooldown: 8s Range: 4 m Interrupts the target's current action and prevents that ability from being used for the next 4 seconds The important thing to note is "prevents that ability from being used for the next 4 seconds" using a kb is interrupting from the cast but it is not a Interrupt skill. Anyone can kill a Elite mob because you can use cc on on them Should you need to, but on boss mobs your kb is useless as cc doesn't work so you need a interrupt to block there cast of long build up heavy hitting skills including heals. At low levels a example of this can be seen in the last boss fight of the Athiss Flashpoint where the Prophet of Vodal's Crushing Affliction dot can kill your group but if you interrupt the cast it becomes no problem at all. It seems like a oversight to me that Merc/Commando do not get these skills when others do. Snipers/gunslingers get the the same skill as there melee range compatriots but but pushed out to a 30 meter range I don't see why this cannot be done for bh.
  10. Sorry But I love the consular ship its layout is fantastic compared to other ships I have had. A front facing door means I just run up and I'm in, then up the stairs and loop back and I'm at the map turning around again head straight to towards the mid and and there is the holo and intercom right where I need them to be. It is the best laid out ship so far in my opinion. The inquisitor ship by contrast is a pain I keep loosing where the exit and the bridge are and I have had it now for 6 levels. If you want to argue looks then imperial agent has the best sleekest looking ship of all, but for internals copy and paste the consular ship every time for me.
  11. This... I have played a sage, a vanguard and a commando both sage and command do the same or better damage without a hampering mechanic and vanguard (assault spec) offers high mobility and damage. Other than story I see little point in playing a GS I am very disappointed with the class.
  12. I think this maybe the case he heals himself first then me which would explain why I am getting less of the big heals as they are on cool down. And yes he is definitely in heal stance.

I'm a 38 infiltration spec shadow and I am now dying a lot it's not that my pet is under geared I have kept him reasonably up to date in that respect it is that I seem to be getting the week end of his heals while he spam's his big heals on himself. I have his damage ability's turned off and he is in med watch (heal stance) yet it seems rare that I receive a kolto jolt or a med pack mostly all I get is a med scan or a field dress which is not enough to keep up with damage in some fights. Is anyone else getting this or is it just me? Should I maybe switch to Kinetic combat for the last 12 levels and then go back to infiltration, advice please.
  14. Level with a friend/s this a great class to play in a group or a duo with especially if your friend is a purely light side jedi tank (the dialogue you can get from this pairing is very funny). It's ok to level as Sharpshooter but I would recommend your put 2 points into saboteurs belt at the start for the 3 second grenade which is a big help as this will be your only ae ability for a while and most monsters in the game come in packs. Energy management is your biggest issue learn to stay above >> which is about 57% energy spent.

Hunker down is as much your friend as it is your enemy a smart player will see those two metal sidings to your cover dot you up & LOS on you then wait to hit you which is easy to do as there are a lot of obstructions to block you from shooting them. The thing I find about gunslinger in pvp is your only as good as your team is at keeping the enemy distracted from noticing your there and if they are not very good then get used to seeing the respawn area a lot as most will see you as an easy kill. Gunslinger is a great pve class, I loved the story but it’s frustrating to play in pvp. What I wanted from the class I found to be available in assault spec vanguard or better yet a balance spec sage both of which do the job far better and with greater survivability without the hampering mechanic of cover. Dots and ae damage are the bane of gunslingers they render cover worthless not that I bother with cover anymore except to plant a sabotage charge and speed shot. At 50 I have played all 3 spec's and I find that Dirty fighting is the best spec for pvp it gives you some decent mobility with exception of Wounding shots which is channelled and where the burst comes from in the spec.
  16. It's not about looks it's about stacking the stats that I want and staying on top of damage. Scatter Guns are a rare find whereas pistols and rifles are common place, this is the same problem as Tech Blade for Jedi Shadow companions they are hard to come by. I am starting to feel there is something slightly off with itemization in game a pair of boots I got last night had +5 defense on it which next to useless for a smuggler imo. I am stacking endurance cunning and Crit in that order when things start showing surge I will add that also as I plan to give dirty fighting a go at 40.
  17. I have made it to 30 and still no Orange Shotgun do I hold, I have been told that there is one in Athiss but haven't seen a drop. None of the commendation vendor's sell them either, I have seen blue but not orange. Currently this is the only non mod equipment I do not have so if anyone can help me and tell me where to look I would appreciate it.

    I never get MVP.

    I have given up on MVP I come 1st or 2nd in heals yet I get no votes for it. In my experience people vote for their friends or the guy with the big kill numbers. I don't go to war zones expecting anything but some commendations, experience and a little cash
  19. I have thus far played about a dozen games of Huttball after which I believe there needs to be a tutorial explaining what to do. I think a small tutorial Video would be very helpful and solve some problems. I pug games and chase kills like most others but also I go for the ball in the hope of scoring yet as more often than not once other team members get the ball they don't know what to do with it. An example of this is a match I had last night where a sage player got the ball and then ran it back to our home goal. Another example is my team is shouting pass at some poor smuggler who gets dropped and says he didn't know how to pass. Your thoughts?
  20. This is it exactly she is like Jack with the exception that Jack was a emotionally damaged child who I just ended up feeling sorry for. Kaliyo likes hurting people and getting paid to do it. When you don't choose the shoot the orphan in the face option she is unhappy. I was aiming at playing a spy who was a master manipulator and only used violence as a last resort. There is a saying you catch more fly's with honey than you do with vinegar, this approach of course doesn't suit Kaliyo at all so I will ditch her as soon as I can and take some one who is less of a sociopath.
