  1. no thank you don't want arenas or the attitudes (of some players) that come with them Blah ..blah...blah oh yeah what's your arena rating? blah...blah...blah not to mention the ridiculously false side economy created by selling ratings. Already going to get enough of that 1-2 months after rated wz's start
  2. Then don't. If there is a bioware employee holding a gun to your head making you run pve content, then I am on your side. Otherwise don't do pve, just don't complain that you aren't getting the pve rewards. It really is that simple. Never said you were lazy, just that you come across as someone that expects full compensation for half a job is all.
  3. Pretty much just saying "I only want to play part of the game but I want the same rewards of those that play the whole game" Hey if you can't be bothered with "carebear" pve content then I guess you don't get "carebear" cookies. I am sorry if my response doesn't reflect your special place in the universe where you do only what you want but expect the same rewards as those that do what they need to BTW PVP is a minigame within the overall MMORPG experience. I sincerely hope that someone comes up with a decent pvp centric MMO. Not that I would really choose to play it but it would give you guys a game to play that you can enjoy. That just might leave those of us that enjoy a full game experience to do just that without every patch being a pve nerf in the name of the almighty pvp balance
  4. no thank you -don't want arenas. I especially don't want the Epeen community that seems to come with them. they are already on the road to screwing up classes for pve in the name of the almighty "PVP BALANCE". Arenas, ratings, and the epeen mentality that goes with it (you know the ones "lol what's your arena rating scrub? L2P and get to 2200, then you can talk to me") will just hasten and exacerbate the problem. Seen it before in other mmoRPG's. PVP is like broccoli, it's a side dish, something to do between raids and such. Don't get me wrong I enjoy pvp and love smashing faces every now and then. And I may as well say it, "To those that threaten to quit/unsub if their pvp isn't the dominating aspect of the game, then please watch your backside on the way out". The quicker, the better

    Arenas

arenas and the attitudes they bring with with them are a terrible thing. No thank you, don't want them, don't need them. while there seems to be a myth that arenas require skill to compete, that would only be true if the term skill encompasses; connection speed, computer/graphics speed, game pads, gear, class comp, class balance, keyboard responsiveness and oh yeah being a better player than the other guy is in there somewhere between class comp and class balance Go FPS to feed your epeen monkey, not needed here
  6. This attitude here is why I don't do arenas and why they ruin the pvp community. Do arenas take more skill than warzones? Yes they do somewhat. But before the e-peen train gets rolling there are variables more important than skill in a limited 2v2,3v3, or even 5v5. In relative order above skill are; connection speed, computer/graphics speed, class balance, class comp, gear. All of these trump "skill" to a certain degree. So unless you happen to be at a lan party running identical computer rigs, with everyone using FOM class comps and specs, you really don't have a lot to say about skill. But, people still will act as if their ability to move a mouse and press keys faster affords them a special place in the world and the "scrubs" can have their leavings TL/DR other variables more important than "skill" impact arena style pvp more than warzone pvp
  7. I'm going to have to actually try to target something behind me then hit tracer to see if I automatically turn and fire. It never occurred to me to even try that on purpose. The way I understood it and I believe I've seen quite a few Red "Not Facing Target" messages, They have to be in front of you when you initiate the cast. If during the cast they get behind you to exploit an interrupt then your character turns and finishes the cast and fires. If they are able to once again run through you before you initiate the next cast you won't be able to and you will get the red message. This seems to work on the same principle as a channeled cast, have to face when starting but will turn and continue until channel is done. If it indeed allows you to never turn but just tab and shoot no matter where your target is then I agree it may be a lazy, boring way to pvp. But, before we get our panties in a bundle that some players don't see pvp as serious business and don't believe that the skill required somehow translates into any real world self worth, we may want to look into those players employing hacks or third party progs to win. They actually seem to think that cheating is an acceptable method of flexing their epeen. TL/DR I think you have to face target to initiate cast but cannot be interrupted by being run through during cast. If so then this is the way it should be
