EdenMoon
Your specs look like they should be able to run it, based on the advertised system requirements, but then with it being a laptop there might be other complications, especially assuming that most laptops use the memory as shared for video memory. If I were going to play this game on a laptop, I would try to get one of the ones with the new AMD "A" processors that combine the graphics processor on the CPU, and I would get as much RAM in it as possible. People who know more than I do will help you better, but their posted system requirements suggest the CPU is more important than the graphics card, but again, in a laptop, more ram helps a lot. Also, there might be a bug - this thread has a suggestion that you set everything to "high" graphics, maybe to reset the settings - then go back and set them back to "low." http://www.cleartechinfo.com/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic-System-Requirements-Cant-Play-it-on-your-Computer Here is a thread in these forums regarding laptops:http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=96376 Here are the A-series at newegg:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006740%20600165139&IsNodeId=1&name=AMD%20A-Series Here is the site mentioned above for testing system specs: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx Hope that helps. Rincewinnd
I play on a laptop exclusively. I have a Radeon 5870m and I have to tweak the settings a little to get it to play well on my laptop. I'm going to guess that it will play terribly on an "HD3000". I don't even know what that is. You will need to buy a laptop with an NVidia 460, 560, or Radeon 5870m or better to get a good play experience. The best help you can get on a laptop to play SWToR can be found at notebookreivew.com in the forums. That's where all the notebook geeks hang out... including me. Again, I would be suspicious that you could get a playable game from that laptop. I have an Asus G73JH with a Radeon 5870m. I play at 1080p with the drop down set to Medium and everything in Advanced set to high. My frame rates drop into the 20s in areas where there are a lot of battles going on but stay in the 50s when I am questing by myself. If I turn the shadows down, my frame rate never gets jerky. AlucardZ
I should've been more precise, the new computer I'm getting is a desktop, not a laptop, sorry guys. But thanks, I'll check those links out and see if maybe I can tweak my current laptop some more so I can at least play the game.
