If you're looking for an active, family-friendly large guild that does large yield conquest weekly but still allows you to play as you want, check out RemnantsOfHope.com We are a 12-year-old guild community that spans 6 MMOs (New World, Final Fantasy XIV, SWTOR, WoW, GW2, and ESO) with SWTOR as our largest guild. We welcome mature people (13+ but mostly adults) from all walks of life. Most members are active evenings and weekends East Coast US time, but we have members from all over the world. The community holds Division and Community elections every six months, keeping leadership fresh and avoiding burnout. We've been running a lot of PvP stuff since PvP Seasons started, the weekly Galactic Seasons event has been fun and chaotic, lots of story mode raids being run. The rules were to pick and decorate ONE room in your stronghold, with any theme! During the live event we travelled together from stronghold to stronghold. It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of people who didn't decorate, but who did come to watch, and it was neat to be able to ask questions like "what is this cool deco??" live in voice / ops chat. It's been interesting to see how it affects our Operation nights, PvP nights, and even events like Galactic Seasons where we take on stuff in groups like Nightmare Pilgrim. We're pretty excited about it. If you hear of anyone having technical issues running or installing the game, please send them to #SWTOR-General as we have lots of potential fixes to share. • We are fully transitioned to using Discord for our division's calendar! If you want to see what events you can join us for in SWTOR, visit the #SWTOR-calendar channel! You can see both the recurring events that happen every week, and the "live" calendar of exactly what is coming up. - especially cool is FFXIV is joining us in using the same format, thanks DigitalMonk the FFXIV Division Commander for taking the time to train with me! • We have fully adjusted our trial requirements to be more in line with the other divisions! Our trial requirements are now more discord-focused. We are also trying a new thing where people fill out a form to introduce themselves in #swtor-welcome, and players who have voluntarry signed up for the welcoming committee role get pinged. It seems to be working nice so far, you can see it here **PvE** • We have fully merged our PvE/Imperial department. So far we haven't seen any major issues and many of our events rotate or take place on both factions in our game. So feel free to check the Calendar to see any of the many, many events you can join us for! #SWTOR-Calendar • Galactic Seasons, Season 4 has started and will be running until August 14th! Gumby is hosting a weekly event called Galactic Patrol - this is one of the BEST social events new players or players visiting from other divisions can join in on, its very easy and social and fun. • The Slayers team did one of the funniest things I've ever seen - they hosted a raid with 8 player, all damage - no tanks or healers, all on the same class using self-healing abilities. The raid leader, Fooj, made an amazing video if you want to watch the chaos. **PvP** • PvP Season 2 has started! Our PvP Officer Zahk would like to highlight that this season is twice as accessible to newbies as the last one was. We love having new players come join us for level 80 pvp. We have two dedicated pvp nights. **Crafting** • Our crafting department has hosted its first social event! It was a player housing decorating contest and you can see the screenshots of entries in our discord - the next one will be a fashion contest late next month, keep an eye on the calendar. Thank you Shelby for volunteering! • Vikarr has been working hard to track and stock our guild banks with crafting materials. • And Slyfox our crafting officer has been doing a great job helping organize many of the changes and upgrades to this department, with Vorn tracking everything! • She is also hosting a raffle each month, check the #swtor-crafting-info forum for details **Roleplay** For Republic RP, the group had to deal with cybernetic zombies and a mining facility full of traps, though thankfully not at the same time. Meanwhile, after dealing with a contagion, the Imperial group went after the ones responsible, taking down one of their ships and sending Mandalorians against their defenses. We've been making some really great changes with the help our Recruitment Department, which helps new players interface with the guild. One of the cool changes is a little bot that has new members post their welcome/introduction in discord, then pings everyone who has voluntarily signed up for the Welcoming Committee! We've already had three new members join us this month as full members, and lots of new trial members. We've been making special efforts to include our new players in our weekly Galactic Seasons runs, sometimes swapping factions just so we can rope everyone in to at least some group activities. Many of our members have been running casual PvP, especially in Warzones. If you see anyone in Remnants of Hope or Vestige of despair, feel free to say hi! Some of us are warzone vets, others are just jumping in for the first time, and many of us are somewhere in between and learning more every day. LadyAdmiral Posted May 9, 2023 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Here's this month's news! --- SWTOR • Double XP is now until May 18th! • If any other divisions wanted to have the SWTOR division "invade" your game for a day, let me know, if you do the organizing I'll rally the Jedi and the Sith over! Recruitment • We have finished our efforts in upgrading recruitment! This included choosing new trial requirements and re-writing the post, finding ways to make it easier for trial members to join activities (through the SWTOR Discord Calendar and Find-a-friend program), make our trial requirements more focused on Discord, and lastly advertising more on Reddit, the official Forums, the largest Discord and bumping our listing on the Guild Finder daily with built-in reminders on Discord. We have also submitted text to the web team to create a SWTOR page on the RoH website, as well as set up templates for the other divisions to do the same! • This was a huge team-wide effort from our Recruitment Department, big thanks to Walex our officer, and our assistants Anurzin, Zahk and DCH, and former assistant Yiss as well as other staff members who pitched in feedback! • We're also really happy with the #swtor-welcome channel for introductions • Between all these we currently have TEN trial members, and just had a whole bunch more finish their trials! Amazing! Roleplay • For Republic RP, the group accepted an escort mission through rakghoul territory, investigated some kolto thefts and tracked down some missing children, though thankfully not all at the same time. For Imperial RP, the group dealt with the ones responsible for the spread of a contagion on Quesh. Finally, Slazersc, our Roleplay Officer, will be making an RP Q&A channel at random times, everyone is welcome to join, even if just to hang out PvP • PvP Seasons currently running, join us for pvp • Someone may have been the first cannibal in huttball this month, you can no longer be the first PvE • Vikarr, our PvE Officer says: Aedi and I are cycling back to the beginning of our VMOP rotation and putting extra emphasis on having people try new roles and specs to help diversify our groups. • The Slayers will be assaulting the Terror From Beyond at the end of the month in the next thrilling chapter of a series written, directed, and produced by Fooj. • By far our best event for levelling or casual or social players is our weekly Thursday Galactic Patrol event, and Smitty is now doing a similar event called Sparks of Procrastination on monday evenings! Crafting • The crafting department held an impromptu contest to celebrate May the Fourth! entrees had to dress up as a Star Wars character, in SWTOR. You can see entries in with the May the Fourth! tag! • A new contest is starting called "Yard of the Month" which is a stronghold decoration contest! Thank you for taking the time to check out The Remnants of Hope! Remnants of Hope is going through a period of rebuilding at the moment as we rebuild following a split in our division’s community, and we are looking for individuals who are interested in being part of a large community that currently spans 4 different games. We remain a family friendly community that believes in a “Play How You Want” mentality and work to be open and inclusive to people and have formed a mature community from all walks of life. We are a community that was founded in 2009, 13 years ago now and have seen many communities and members come and go, including some of our divisions in it. Currently we play WoW, ESO, GW 2, and of course Star Wars the Old Republic. A big part of our success is our highly organized community and our approach to membership, leadership, and what it all means. Our primary focus is our community, from the wider level to the divisions that play in each game, and providing both the tools and resources to organize and play as we want to play. While things may be a little slim at the moment on the SWTOR side of things if and when you join and become a full member you also get access to the community as a whole, and the ability to play these games with thriving and engaged divisions with their great leadership and members in our community. We have both a main Republic and Imperial guild for people to play and engage content with whatever faction they want, and is a great place to hang out while leveling alts or re-experiencing the story. We offer weekly events for PvE and PvP, though at this moment we are not running Operations of any kind as we rebuild our group and leadership for that. If you are interested in learning how to run operations or be part of building a new team there you are more than welcome to apply, but we do want you to know where things stand currently to avoid any false expectations. Goal: Our main goal is the server as a place of relaxation and fun for everyone. In order to ensure that each of our members has the best experience possible, we sustain an atmosphere of integrity and respect with a constant drive to improve.
