I just realized

I think you're oversimplifying a bit.

Both display APSD (Anti-personnel social disorder tendencies). Sith are probably more narcissistic, in that they are very concerned (with few exceptions) about self-glorification and advancement over the progress of the Empire.

Sith, to use a layman's term, understand they are hurting people, they just don't care. That makes them sociopathic.

Jedi, however, are so convinced of their absolute righteousness that any collateral damage is viewed as "for the greater good". They absolutely cannot see the damage their world view is causing, hence why, when faced with a different truth, they often fall.

The Republic, with knowledge of the Jedi, maintain a prison planet. Fair enough, people, especially dangerous people, need to be removed so they don't cause personal, or societal harm.

Wait, it gets better.

The Republic conducts experiments on these prisoners.

Wait, it gets better.

The Republic then deliberately breed different species. Emphasis on 'deliberately'.

Wait, it gets better.

The Republic then conducts experiments on the offsprin.

You hold ZERO moral high ground if either, one, you know of, or two, allow, the above to happen.
