AdreanKael
So here's my question. Do GMs squelch people in general chat? I was unable to send anything through to general chat tonight on tython after typing in "Jesh I'm level 40 already and haven't left tython yet." I was unable to send anything in general chat for over an hour then I left for the fleet. When I got to the fleet I typed in "Hmm" and it went through then I couldn't type in anything else. Nothing I typed in went through. I can chat in guild chat and party chat but not in general chat. I don't think either of those would warrant a chat ban considering everything else they let through if GMs do monitor chat. If not what could cause that to happen? MystyqeofXev
There's probably another reason other than something you said. Gen Chat is like the Internet in the long, long, ago. Literally anything goes.
denavin
The Squelch mechanic is automatic. It will trigger if you spam chat. (Typing too many lines in chat in a short period of time is considered spam by the system and will get you squelched) If your are reported for anything in chat by other players. (Can be and is abused by players for greefing purposes) Too many Quick Cut and Pastes in chat will get you squelched. Running a Macro Bot to advertise your guild will get you squelched. ( Timed Chat Posts ) Rarely do GM's ever get involved in chat much less actually monitoring it.
