do higher stats / gear make dps/hps scale linearly or slightly logarithmically?

Serious question because it seems the dps % gap is widening between top and lower classes, baring a few exceptions where some tacticals etc are amazing. Like serious question for example if say Marksman and Fury get the same percentage increase to their dps, would not the gap widen because Fury base in 5.x is higher than marksman etc if no other ability numbers are adjusted?

there is a whole thread about the stats already here. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=966583

everything except power and mastery (bonus damage) scale linearly, while all other stats are asymptotic

if dps is modeled by dps= (base + bonus)*(1+crit*surge)*alacrity and crit surge and alacrity have been rescaled to the same stats we get now, then only the bonus and base parts matter, which will be scalar

dps1=1

dps2=1.0

dps1*k=1k

dps2*k=1.03*k

if k=2 then we have

dps1=2

dps2=2.06

which would widen the gap by .03 dps but the percentage would be the same 3% ...

but if they rescale the base so (base_now+bonus_now)=(base_new+bonus_new) then it will be the same.
