She's quite overtly jealous of the agent going out in the grandest of grand stunts, and (as she might) using that to hide going away. But yeah, I think she is trying to deny her own feelings, so not exactly denial about the agent leaving / being killed, but more denial about how she feels about him. Follow it up in Chapter X. Lazproperty Posted December 21, 2017 Share Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) She couldn't cope with the Agent dying and having to face her feelings in consequence, so she had to rationalize it in her head as if he left her behind in an elaborate plot and she was the victim, that way she could just be angry and pretend to move on, so yes, denial.
