Warhurst Posted December 28, 2011 Share Posted December 28, 2011 As a level 50 Commando Assault Specialist, like everyone im working my way to champion gear and I already have like 5-6 pieces. The question is do I have to gather Eliminator or Combat Tech set? Looking at the set bonus, eliminator is better cause of %15 crit to HIB and 5 sec less CD to concussion charge adn has more endurance. On the other hand combat tech 2 set bonus has nothing to do with us, while 4 set bonus gives %15 crit chance to stockstrike and has more crit/surge on it (on some pieces) than eliminator set. So it comes down to either stats or set bonuses. Anyone has any experience over pvp gear please share your thoughts thanks! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It makes you beefier but (I don't know what the 2nd set bonus is) if the set bonus helps you in the slightest, might not be entirely bad to wear it if you like to be in the thick of it instead of off to the side pumping out damage. Eliminator is Commando and Tech is Vanguard, but the Eliminator set definitely has as much or more endurance and the Tech has as much or more DPS stats, and you can't even SEE the set bonuses until you buy a piece. This is what led me, as a Commando, to accidentally turn in a token for the Tech Gauntlets. Hopefully ingame support is able to rectify this. Ha! Wow, still just a trooper at 50 when almost everyone else has become a Vanguard or a Commando? /sarcasm And yes I have seen the pic so I know you're a Vanguard. And as for Combat Tech being Commando. Hmm, can't remember having Neural Surge on my bar. I mean I'd remember having a "Stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 meters for 2.5 seconds." as a skill. And wow, that Stockstrike critical chance increase is so uber seeing as I really use that a lot. Man, I feel sorry for myself having picked up the Eliminator gear. I should petition a GM to change all my Eliminator for Combat Tech. But anways, back to the topic. Yeah, Combat Tech has the nicer stats with Eliminator having the set bonuses. But I'd go for Eliminator anyway. And getting duplicate tokens so I can transfer the mods from Combat Tech to Eliminator gear. Eliminator (depends on PvP or PvE) either reduces cooldown on Concussion Charge or reduces cost of HIB by 1. You could actually with proper talent spec make HIB free w/ PvE Eliminator gear.
