The Beginning:

The Hardstark Industries legacy passes down a great deal of wealth to each generation, but it wasn’t always so. The company itself is only 80 years old and has only seen three generations past their expiration. The fourth and most recent heir was no heir at all, but an heiress. This would ruin everything, according to Arronis Hardstark.

Husband to Viveca and father to Eden, Arronis was a proud man with high morals of how to run a business. The issue was, he ran his family much the same. Women were part of it, sure, but they had their place. Secretaries and accounting, make sure the numbers add up right and let the men do the heavy lifting. At home, he was the man of the house. Viveca was all too eager to live the lavish lifestyle, and while she doted upon him when he was around, she let the other women of the staff clean and cook. Sure, men were capable of being hired for such positions, but Arronis wouldn’t dare. Viveca’s only request was that she pick out the women herself, and it was often she picked the most unappealing of women physically. Why give the man someone else to look at? She wanted the legacy for her own.

As far as Arronis was concerned, Viveca had one job: produce an heir for the company and for the Hardstark name.

She failed that job. Instead of a male, Viveca gave birth to Eden Hardstark.

Useless to her father in more ways than one, Eden stayed mostly at her mother’s side during childhood through the beginning of her adolescence. She longed so much for the connection to another person, and if it wouldn’t come from Arronis, her mother was the young one’s next bet. Instead, she found it in Peony, the servant who would soon be promoted to Eden’s caretaker. Peony was strong minded to teach the child everything – even beyond the restraints of what her father had in mind for her. As she grew older, Eden found interest in the legacy of her family. She wanted to be just like them. She wanted to improve it. Maybe if she could somehow manage to do so, her father would see her in new eyes.

He refused her request. The place would be nothing for a daughter of his.

The next series of events shaped the woman who stands as Eden Hardstark today.

First, in retaliation to Eden’s requests to join and assist in the company, Arronis and Viveca tried for another child. Maybe this time, an heir would come of it. A short year later, Arronis found himself disappointed in his wife yet again. Another girl, this time, named Mayah.

With the birth of a new child, Peony’s duties were no longer solely to Eden and the child took this hard. It was even more so difficult when Peony died shortly after. An illness of some sort, Eden never found out exactly what. Now, the duties were left to another servant, but as their were hardly as enthusiastic as Peony had been, Eden took it upon herself to take up the mantle of caretaker.

With a sister twelve years younger than her, her only personal contact gone forever, and a father who would reject the pair of girls in any manner of responsibility or pride, Eden hardened her exterior. She was polite, she was clear. She learned the part of her mother from afar and resigned all of her emotions. By day, she was your typical upper echelon teenager.

By night, Eden evolved into Amiele. Then came the rebellious years.

Spice. Arson. Theft. Fencing. Combative training. Arms training. Activism. It was amazing what a woman with a wig and mechanical shades to appear a cyborg could do. It was amazing how having so much money could help buy off threats from competitors.

Until it no longer could. She’d found herself in trouble once ore twice, with promises of payout. She came home with bruises, cuts, or blood stained clothes. If anyone noticed, they didn’t bat an eye, but it was more likely that they never saw her at all. Before, or now. It wasn’t until her father notices chunks of his money in the accounts being withdrawn. Withdrawals his employees couldn’t account for. Withdrawals that lost people their jobs for.

Luckily for Eden, Arronis Hardstark didn’t last much longer beyond her seventeenth birthday. The end of his older life suddenly and not-so-unexpectedly came due to a failed immunity against a lethal virus.

At this point, Viveca takes over the company because no male heir was produced. She does next to nothing in regards to running the business, and a few short years later, she’s overcome with heartbreak and the anxiety and stress of running a business that she’s done next to nothing in all her life. Her death comes by the time Eden is twenty-four and her little sister is twelve years old.

Now, it is Eden’s turn to run Hardstark Industries. It is the last defiant act against her father that wasn’t taken, but truly fell into her lap.

But her old life was so adventurous! It was fun, dangerous, and it took skills she had..

She tells the employees – the ones of her father first and now her – that she’s going to be making some changes. “Don’t worry!” She exclaimed. “No one is getting fired. There’s just going to be a new section of the business.”

Eden warns them, “The characters are a little rough. They didn’t have the same upbringing or standards. Don’t take what they say to heart if they comment something off or come in without business professional clothes.”

The new section is a daughter company, for trade and acquisition. For transport of goods on and off planet. It is named by Eden as the Seven Moons Enterprise. While her friends from the streets came and went, the ones who knew her are intrigued. They want to join and see what’s going to come. Hardstark is a long standing company, and a new business venture could be just the edge it needs to stand the new generation.

Granted, the illegitimate part of promising pay is also a nice turn on. In fact, it’s the biggest one.

And thus, the legitimate side of things remains the perfect cover. Hardstark Industries is but a shell company, while the Seven Moon Enterprises kicks *** and takes name… illegally.
