That's unfortunate, but not particularly surprising if they work in the U.S. - in general we tend to lag pretty far behind Europe in terms of family leave. But EA, at least, apparently provides10 weeks of parental leave for new fathers (plus I assume one could tack on unused vacation time if one is inclined to do so and has that time available).
