Venn_Dras
Is there a way to complete a Star Fortress Alliance Alert solo? It pops up as a Heroic+2, without giving the option to do it solo as in other instances. With the focus being on grinding CXP points, its nearly impossible to find anyone for anything but. Jagaimee
The Heroic Star Fortresses are actually soloable - they're more difficult than the solo mode (with some advanced classes/disciplines, MUCH more difficult), but they're not impossible to do. Here's a guide that Dulfy wrote for navigating the Heroic Star Fortress solo: Star Fortresses Heroic guide.

Here's a guide that Dulfy wrote for navigating the Heroic Star Fortress solo: Star Fortresses Heroic guide. It;s not the difficulty level I'm having trouble with. When I attempt to talk to the npc to continue the alert, it instead tries to start me on a separate version of the same star fortress. On my mission log it says Heroic+2, but I want to do it solo. Is it possible to abandon that version and do the solo version instead without breaking the quest chain?
americanaussie
I'm confused. Terribly confused. The original one miot gives you is solo and you speak to Theron to continue it. The other ones you speak to NPC only. The dude at the portal. It'll pop up and allow you to select solo or heroic. However, heroic is only clickable if you've done the alliance alert on the planet. This involves sighting the tower. Killing the droids. The entering the bunker and teaming up with the alert companion. After that the heroic can be finished by taking the quest by the portal and completing it. It can be soloable buying found Voss exarch to be difficult and needed help. If you just want to do solo ones then you don't need to do the bunker stuff. I'd delete or reset it. However if it's the heroic then in the future you will need to gear up the new comp on the planet again.

americanaussie
But if I don't do the bunker part, I can;t recruit the new alliance members, right? If you don't do the bunker part then you can't even do the heroic version. The heroic version is blowing it up after the bunker part. After its blown up then and only then does the new alliance member join.
Nightblazer
There are two versions, one where you just go to the star fortress and then there is the hard mode where you blow up the bunker to get the companion. Both versions are soloable but the difficulty varies depending on gear, advanced class, discipline and companion influence. I have solo'd both versions of the star fortress as my Vengeance Juggernaut. If your companion influence is around 15 or more, preferably 25 or higher, and you set them to Heal mode, you can solo the hard mode, just may take a bit longer since your on your own but it's soloable. Ok. So I just need to set it to Veteran mode rather than story mode for it to work. That's where the misunderstanding was. Thanks! I'd love to do these in a group, but with the advent of the CXP grinding, finding groups for any heroics (especially star fortresses) is difficult now. andisim
Finally did them all after a long time. Grouping was difficult but it only took two days actually. On Odessen there are still folks that are lfg, ofc it also depends on your server.
Yezzan
They are a huge waste of time. They should just make it legacy-wide. Those companions are just there

There are two meanings of "do it solo"... * Do it in solo mode, as you did for the intelligence-gathering mission. * Do it with you and a companion and no other players but in Heroic 2+ mode. The first is a repeat of the intel mission. The second is a destroy-the-star-fortress mission that you do after you trash the bunker on the planet. (It's a good laugh when you destroy the sixth bunker, but I won't spoil it for you.) So prepare yourself well, read guides, get the alliance specialists (Aygo, Hylo, Oggy, and Sana-Rae) to rank 10 to enable buff objects. Especially get Aygo to rank 10 because his buff object gives you a spawnable tanky turret. Then go for it. Do one thing differently to me, though. Do Voss last, not first. The final Exarch fight on the Voss SF is harder than the others because he has a big self-heal, and he's not afraid to use it.

Finally found someone to do a run with last night. We ran Voss..... and survived! Edited April 4, 2017 by Venn_Dras
