Star Fortress destroyable in Story Mode?

Dear SW:Tor Team,

on the german Servers it's impossible to find a second Player for the star fortress, so it would be good if we could destroy it also in the Story mode.

As a Storyplayer with 22 twinks it's unteresting to level a compagnion until Lv 50 with every twink.

There's an easy Star Fortress mode that isn't Heroic.

The heroics become easier with Alliance unlocks (20 crates to reach Rank 10 for the unlocks).

to "actually" destroy it you need to do the Heroic version. The "solo" version ends at the room where in heroic they spawn 2 elite and 2 strong at you, and its a boss droid guy.

But they are easy enough to solo with any class with a healing companion of decent influence. Heroic Moment can come in handy as well.

It IS however slightly more challenging than your average H2, so minimal gear and player knowledge of its class is required.

You can solo them. No sweat. The fights are interesting enough that you need to stay awake and focussed, but with reasonable gear (crafted 220 blues should be enough, and failing that, try 228 purples) and a companion in the mid 20s will be enough to get you through.

Take a moment to rank up your Alliance specialists (Aygo, Hylo, Oggy, and Sana-Rae) to rank 10 using H2 crates. If you do this, you get a bunch of buffs unlocked. Most of them are available in odd corners of the Star Fortresses. Probably the most important one is Aygo's, which gives you a tanky turret that you can deploy in big fights. It generates huge aggro, and keeps the end bosses off you until it is killed.

This is subjective.

I personally don't tackle SFs until my companion is at least 35 or 40. With a companion in their 20s, it's too much work, and I can't be guaranteed of success.

However, as the above poster (and others) have said, and I will absolutely agree with this part - SF Heroic mode -can- be soloed. The threshold will be different for everyone, and some classes have it easier than others. Some people were doing it back when the gear cap was 208. These days, if you grind away at GC long enough, you can have a rank 50 companion and full 242 set gear, which will make the experience a MUCH more pleasant stroll - more akin to a walk in the park than climbing Everest.

I mean, climbing Everest is fun and all, but I don't want to do it every night after I get home from work, y'know?

p.s. I second the bit about getting the buffs. Aygo's tank turret and the Heal probe are the two most useful, IMO.

The issue for me is, that I don't wan't increase the specialists to lv 15 or higher with every twink or increase the Level of the compagnion to 30/40 or higher with every twink. That's too boring. I wan't destroy this fortress as a part of the Story in a easier way. That should be an option for all the twinks.

For the succes I can play it solo in Heroic mode with my main char.

Granted I havent done it since 4.0, but I didn't find running the group version of the star fortresses that difficult. I play a guardian tank, I think I swapped my comp to heals for the last fight and had him dps the others. He was like level 10 at the time. And I hadn't levelled the alliance dudes at all (again at the time, we're talking about the time they came out here)

What's giving you trouble? Have you run your comp as heals (probably needed as dps, idk since I was a tank)? Or have they just made the heroic star fortresses harder with 5.0?

You don't need 15. I just rank 'em to 10. 10 is enough for the extra abilities (3 is enough for the 4 buffs from the initial terminal)

The Alliance Specialists are probably at 3 or 4 by the time you're done doing most of the Odessen stuff, especially if you recruit a companion or two, and then it only takes a little less than 20 crates for each of them to get 'em to rank 10. I'm currently sitting on almost 300 crates of each type that I'm not sure what to do with yet, and since I level GC primarily through chapters and Heroics, that number's only going to increase...

Oh yes. My bad, I forgot.

Still, having done all of them (Heroic versions) again without the buffs, it can be done, but my suggestion, if it's a problem, get those Alliances to level 10, so you can get the buffs and it makes them much easier.

Try reading what I wrote. Mid 20s for your companions, rank TEN for the specialists. NOT FIFTEEN.

And I did the Voss one(1) first way back when, without knowing ANYTHING about what was going on inside. My companion was only rank 21, and I didn't have the specialists-at-10 buffs either. I died a lot in the final phase (after the EPHEMERIS room where the solo version ends), but that was because I didn't know what was going on and got killed by mechanics.
