Swtor causes massive lag spikes whenever I start it up and as the game is running!

I've been getting a huge amount of lag spikes every time I start the game and as the game is running. Once I exit the game, the lag is gone, and the internet is fine.

 

It's been acting like this for the past 4-5 days or so, and I would like to find a solution to this asap.
