Are there places a merc cant go in Korriban? I wanted to try to get the datacrons...

Forget the merc on Kor . Make a Sith and go get it! They're fun.

I grabbed all the Imp-side datacrons on my sniper, so I don't think there should be any restriction on where a non-Sith PC can go. I do remember the map can be a bit difficult to figure out, might be missing an elevator or something.

To get to the right side of the main map, you need to take the taxi.

 

And yes, there are places a merc can't go. There are phase walls for:

* SI class missions.

* SW class missions.

* the two Korriban H2 missions, which are Sith-only.

 

But none of the Korriban datacrons are in those areas.

 

There is an area that only SIs can reach that is quite entertaining.

 

It is in the class mission where you have to go extract Khem Val and recover the map. You place the rods and open the first door, then you progress to a huge pit with an Ancient Droid patrolling the edge. If you're like me, you use Force Thingy to knock it off the ledge into the pit, and inevitably it dies on the floor below and puts up a loot bar. You can recover this loot. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader as to how you get down there.
