Qronus
Is this a bug? Or intended? If intended, I would have liked to know this in advance, as I would not have purchased said companion.
Mowermanx
Is this a bug? Or intended? If intended, I would have liked to know this in advance, as I would not have purchased said companion. Its intended, with the exception of Treek, all of the companions obtained via the cartel market, be it in the gamble boxes or direct purchase cannot do crew skills. JediRelentless
See the fist symbol next to the item on the CM menu? It's a combat companion. No crew skills for combat companions. It's not a bug. It's working as intended. Edited December 26, 2016 by JediRelentless

Gwena
Well, to be fair, I think a wampa would be about as good at diplomacy as Broonmark is, and probably on par with Skadge when it comes to synthweaving. Teasing aside, I do understand why the combat only companions are that way, as many of them are, well, animals. I've bought several of the animal companions, but haven't been able to bring myself to use them, since they take just as much to max influence with as a normal companion while lacking much of the functionality (though I suppose I could be mistaken in how much it takes to max their influence, as I haven't checked myself). Rankyn
If memory serves, when they first introduced this type of companion, they specifically said that they will be non-story and non-crew skill companions.
