Allow F2P or Preferred access to Galactic Starfighter

Most of the servers in North America barely pop anymore for GSF. Even on Harbinger it can be a 15-30 minute wait between pops. The pool of players is so small you instantly recognize the people on the teams as the same vets of regulars and can usually determine the outcome of the match. People actually leave when they know they are on the automatic losing side.

Allowing F2P/Preferred to GSF Pro's include:

- More players in the pool for quicker queue pop times.

- Having 2 ship variants forcing them to purchase other models with cartel coins or buying fleet requisition with cc's.

Not Allowing F2P/Preferred to GSF

- Subscribers losing interest due to so few pops and a diminishing community of players on most servers.

Subscribers lost interest in it fast because those who are good at it have been playing so long their ships are all perfectly tuned. Anyone new who hops in is playing with a crappily tuned ship.

Lets just get rid of the customization entirely and force everyone to fly the same ships, or unlock every customization from the start so a new player can tune a ship how they want it from the get-go. You'd have a lot more players even with that change.

However, no matter what you do...GSF will always retain only a small number of players as it is NOT an MMO playstyle, the kind of people who would play it are off playing the flight combat in Battlefront.

This.

GSF isn't fun enough to want to sit there & grind out things. I don't know anyone that plays it outside of getting some easy conquest points. Also giving it to Free to plays is a good idea since GSF is pretty much garbage & not worth locking up behind a paywall.

This is the essential point. Both GSF and the railshooter space missions fit badly into an MMORPG like SWTOR, because the gameplay format is completely unrelated to the rest of the game. Warzones, while not exactly Star Wars-ish, are at least played with the same combat mechanics as the main game.

Both F2P and Preferred have unlimited access to GSF(with a slight nerf with Requisition gain)

The most active GSF servers are: Harbringer(us) The Red Eclipse and Pregonitor(EU)

And yes, the grind at this point is not needed. But it`s also worth noticing that skill trumps upgrades in GSF.

Also, it`s worth noticing that GSF community is amazingly friendly, on almost all server you have a GSF channal(/cjoin GSF where people help new pilots, by grouping with them or just introducing them to mode mechanics )

You can always get ton-s of tips and advices on GSF forums
