foxxycandy
I am super curious, and I've been trying to find an answer. What is it that causes the "hum" in Ilum? It is very mesmerizing and one of the main reasons Ilum is my favorite planet.. But I do want to know where it comes from, and why. Would anyone happen to have any clue? Jaiddyn
I assume it's probably the kyber crystals. They're supposedly unique and tend to "attune" themselves to the Force. It makes sense in a way to have them "sing" or "hum" in the presence of the Force/life/etc.
FlavivsAetivs
This is EU canon so they're not Kyber Crystals, they're just normal lightsaber Crystals. But yes, presumably it's the crystals' attenuation to the force. ~ Eudoxia
Jaiddyn
Huh, weird. They're still listed as kyber crystals on the Wiki (not the Legends part, the default one) on Illum.
MadDutchman
Huh, weird. They're still listed as kyber crystals on the Wiki (not the Legends part, the default one) on Illum. Ya, that's Disney canon. In Legends Ilum contained Adegan crystals. I'm assuming the name Kyber Crystal was derived from the Kaiburr Crystal, but that is the extent of the relationship that I know of.
