New Rebels S3 Clip

Looks like they might be going a bit darker without going full-blown dark - Ezra's definitely not using a slingshot or stun setting anymore, but still some good humor and even a bit of silliness worked in. Ending of S2 was great and this has me looking forward to S3.

Ezra's new appearance makes me think of Starkiller tbh, I wish they gave him new clothes though.

We will likely see another trailer this weekend at the celebration, maybe we will see Thrawn since he's still the rumored villain.

Hondo: "is that really Ezra?"

Sabine: "Most of the time . . . "

Think we have season 3 in a nutshell there, the outfit is actually the only thing that looks like Ezra from previous seasons and I guess we'll be along for the ride to see that change following season 3.

I noticed that as well. Looks like he has become quite militant since we last saw him. Wonder how much that had to do with the holocron?

Surprised to see the green lightsaber, guess his blue crystal was destroyed by Vader

Kyber crystals are now supposed to set their color based on the inner nature of the person handling them. This might be a visual cue about some change in Ezra's personality.

Luke Skywalker's first lightsaber of his own design had a green blade and throughout Return of the Jedi he had several close brushes with the Dark Side of the Force. In this new canon, maybe people who create green crystals get a little close to the line now and then.

I've never heard of that before, and there is nothing about in the canon page of Wookieepedia, so not sure it's canon.

Kyber crystals could be found in Ilum's Crystal Caves, in the crust of the Outer Rim world Lothal, and a few other planets.[1] The crystals concentrated energy in a unique manner and were attuned to the Force, resonating with it.[1] They were a critical component in the construction of lightsabers, focusing energy into the weapon's distinct plasma blade. As younglings, Jedi traveled to the ice caves to harvest their own crystals, which they then used to build their lightsabers. The Force guided their selection, finding a crystal that matched them as Jedi. Crystals lacked color before they were chosen by a Jedi. Once chosen, most lightsabers became blue or green, though other shades were created in rare instances, most notably Mace Windu's purple blade, the yellow blades of the Jedi Temple Guards, the black darksaber and Ahsoka Tano's white lightsabers.

This actually, in some ways, ties into the Tarkin Novel that have Tarkin reflect over the Jedi's he encountered and fought along side with during the last period before the fall of the republic; Where he describes the Jedi's different saber colors as having no apparent connection to the Jedis fighting style. This is a step away from the old canon that associates saber color with fighting style and affiliation with in the Jedi Order.

That is interesting, although since it is unlikely that Ezra made it to Illum to get his own crystal, he's probably using an already "coloured" one.

That remains to be seen. He didn't get his on illum either. His original one came from the temple in Lothal.
