I got the 308 error on the patching process, closed the launcher, started the update again and now the launcher wont even open. I click on the icon, nothing happens, I click again and then there is a message that there is a launcher already open. I did a repair launcher from the directory. Still nothing opens when I click the launcher now.

So how do I repair the game files as something got broke on the failed update.

Thank you

yes ive noticed that before I looked at this forum. still don't explain the issue or fixes it, could it be something the developers messed up?

Yeah, had task manager open as I was using that to close the launcher after the failed update. So open launcher, start update, use task manager to close launcher, repeat.. on the 3rd start up the launcher would not open.

I clicked the icon and nothing opens for me to see, task manager shows that something is running however there is nothing opening for me to see now.

I was looking for a way to repair the game files as something broke on the failed update. A link from the SWTOR website as I wanted an official repair tool for the game files. I could not find it in the game folder as I thought there was a repair tool at one time.

Thank you

/facepalm.

That is an official link from the BioWare launcher support page. All it does is fixes the problem you sometimes get where the launcher doesn't launch. It does not fix the broken patching. BW needs to fix the server host calling in the launcher before it will start working with out a glitch. Only thing you can do is keep trying to patch. When you get the error close it by x, not the task manager. Then go into the task manger and close the process. Then restart the launcher. Keep doing this till it finishes patching.

Gotcha, I did run that file from that link. Game files still broken. That patch tool encountered several errors with the launcher.dll files, AV files, Launcher itself.

It could not repair the launcher. There is no other repair tool?

Thank you

There is suppose to be a FixLauncher.exe in your folder. I do not have one and I've re-downloaded and installed the launcher about 5-10 times with no luck. So I just deleted the launcher and every thing that had launcher tied to it in my folder, then reinstalled the launcher. After that I had to run the launcher patch fix I linked earlier to get it working again. Other than waiting for BW to fix their own launcher there is really nothing you can do but maybe flush the DNS (helped for some people) or do what I did and just keep trying to patch.

But if you are going to do what I did make sure you do not close the launcher from the task manager. This resets your patches and you have to start from the first patch every time. When you close it by clicking the X in the launcher this makes it remember where it left off and starts from there.

Ok, well I have deleted all files in the EA folders as I could not uninstall the game from the Programs and features in the control panel. Doing a Full install from the SWTOR website link to download the game. What's 28-30 gigs of data on my monthly package.. LoL

So.. 5 1/2 hours later, manually removing the game from the system as the uninstall would not work as the launcher was "Tango Uniform", re-downloading the FULL game from the web *32.9 gigs, so that was awesome* and running the launcher repair tool linked in this thread as the launcher on the full download did open for me to see *main reason for the full download* but would not load into the game, I am now able to log into the game.

Not sure the cause of this train wreck of a patch, I for one did not have a good time. I feel as though I got no help from the developers on this issue.

Thank you to all that replied to this thread.
