GSF: Scoping Railgun Stops Ship Instantly at Boost Speeds

On a gunship, rightclicking with a railgun selected as secondary weapon will cause a ship with a railgun to instantly drop to a dead stop from any speed.

 

This enables gunships to do things they probably shouldn't be able to, mostly to do with causing pursuers to overshoot.

Any pursuer has three counters:

1: A pursuer can come back around, probably after the gunship has been firing at teammates.

2: Using the retro thrusters engine component, and dropping mobility levels down approximately to the level of the gunship or below.

3: A pursuer can have a wingman trail at a range which gives time to slow down and end deceleration with a good firing solution.

This can also be used to prevent overshooting a target, or to avoid suicide by engine maneuver.

 

This happens because the game only checks to see if the ship with the railgun is boosting to decide if it can enter scope mode. It doesn't sanity check the ship's speed, and it doesn't cause the ship to decelerate to a normal stop.
