I think they need to refund all of our cartel coins we have spent on these Anarchist packs because they are total POS. I will not be buying anymore of their packs after this. And right now am seriously thinking about canceling my Sub. it is clear to me that they do do not care about us and they are just looking for ways to screw us out of money.

Yea just call customer support tell em you will un-sub if they don't refund and they'll refund ONLY if you haven't spent them as far as I know. I called before spending them and after reading this thread I knew I needed a refund. I can spend my money a lot more wisely than coins for now.......if Bioware truly listens it would've been fixed by now. If not, they WILL listen to their bank accounts going down since they just gave me $100 back.

On a side note. I have collected 100% of all previous cartel market items. The new cubes are USELESS to me. I want new items not duplicates of everything I already own.

After spending 43500 CC on hypercrates/supercrates and yet missing A LOT of items from the new pack, I can say I'm done. I'll pass on purchasing packs that don't guarantee an item from new collection. Too many packs contained 1 or 2x chance cubes + jawa scrap/companion gifts and no actual items from the new pack (which is what we as customers want to buy). This business model is just stupid and is alienating your customers..

yeah this is rediculas, I don't mind the cahnce cubes but a few things.

1: Make em rarer over all and garentee a "only one per pack" set up tops. (hell give us 1 item and 1 chance cube in each pack and I think that'd be fine)

2: get rid of the CRAP in em. armor sets are cool. weapons are cool. dyes and titles? not cool.

I'm absolutely disgusted by these packs. It is like a HEAVILY rigged carnival game. I had enough cartel points to grab a dozen packs last night. I didn't get a single good item. Total waste of my time and money. Reports on Reddit of people who have bought dozens of packs and not a single lightsaber. If the goal was to get people to throw hundreds of dollars at you to get these items then you should fire the guy who came up with the idea. Some people will be willing to do that. Countless people will just walk away bitter and with a sealed wallet.

You won't get another dime from me Bioware. Far as I am concerned the cartel market no longer exists. It was suppose to be a good way for the game to generate money and people to get items they would like. Not a method for you to screw people over with crappy gambling techniques.

90 packs open, only notable items were;

Swamp Rancor x 2

Zakuul Knight Captain Lower x 3

Anarchist Supplementary x 2

10x classic vibro swords

7x Exiled Jedi [Different types]

7x Darth Skotia [Different types]

1x Resistance Fighter

4x Squadron w.e

7x Desert Green

And the rest? Nonsense from chance cubes from other packs I didn't bother with before and still don't care about.

That's it. I hate your chance cubes, I hate their high drop rate. I hate the fact I could have that new saber but instead i'm sat on a poop looking dye because of your chance cubes.

Can I say this bioware? If I wanted the items from other packs I would have bought those packs. I buy a hypercrate specifically for the items which are only obtainable in that pack. What is so difficult to understand?

If you guys were chuffing McDonalds i'd be expecting a Big Mac meal only to get two large fries and a doughnut for a drink.

Fix this nonsense, god forbid the only lesson you've taught me is to simply not buy packs any more. Nice mess up.

P.S The unstable lightsaber you've been harping on about for days is so rare that it makes your posts on your twitter down right laughable. What the heck are we supposed to do when YOUR PACKS have a ratio that's so darn idiotic that the chances of them dropping seem like less than 1%? I'd have better luck getting a damned rancor from the casino event. In fact I'm sure my chances are better.

Well, after reading all them complaints, there isn't any thing i can B!%^$ about that hasn't already been said.

Just know im with you all....

What i will say is this. YOU WANT A CARTEL MARKET, THEN MAKE IT LIKE A MARKET!

PUT EVERY ITEM FROM THE LOWEST CRAPPIEST ITEM TO THE HIGHEST OF TIERS, ITEM.

AND PUT THEM ALL UP ON THE CARTEL SELF OF THIS SAID MARKET.

ALLOW YOUR FAITHFUL SUPPORTERS TO LOOK UPON AND CHOOSE ANY AND ALL ITEMS AS AN INDIVIDUAL ITEM WITH AN INDIVIDUAL PRICE. DO AWAY WITH THE CRAPPY PACKS THAT THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU. WHICH IN MY OPINION IS NOTHING BUT GABBLING. LIKE PLAYING ANY TYPE OF GAME AT A CASINO. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON SWTOR CASINO SCAM. THATS A DIFFERENT RANT FOR JERRY SPRINGIER.

JUST CREATE AN INTERFACE LIKE THE GTN AND PUT A PRICE ON THE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS. I GUARANTEE YOU ONCE PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO BUY WHAT THEY WANT OR NEED. BW, YOUR SELLS WILL GO THROUGH THE ROOF AND PEOPLE WILL BE A LOT HAPPIER. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TREAT IT LIKE A REAL MARKET. BW YOU HAVE PRODUCTS YOU WANT TO SELL. WE, THE CONSUMER OF PRODUCTS, WE WANT OR NEED OR BOTH TO BUY.

SIMPLE SUPPLY AND DEMAND.......

Now with that said. Please BW consider this suggestion.

Now to the Community, is this or is it not a good idea to have a supply and demand market like i laid out there, let me and BW know?

Pretty sure it is I only had to use 200k for my Rancor

The Chance packs seem like a good idea, but they should be bought on their own.

I was definitely disappointed to mainly get items from old packs. I bought four packs and got three old crystals some older emotes, and the only new stuff I got was two of the blaster rifles. :jawa_frown:

Well it is a casino, you only have a chance of winning, not a guarantee. Also you spent $1000 on cartel coins to buy a rancor? just buy one off the gtn. No rancor, or any other cartel item is worth $1000.

I havent seen a rancor on the gtn for $1000 coins or even $1000s of coins and i am not a millionaire in the game so.

But i get your point. The casino in tor, the odds are even worst though then the real odds in a physical world of gambling.

So a digital world, yeah way worst.

Typically I wouldn't be jumping the gun, however, due to my own ignorance I bought multiple packs giving the random system the benefit of the doubt. Of course I see a couple gold lowers and that is it, lots of bronze mounts and pets I never needed from a long time ago and barely any new content. How about new content and no trying to get old gear? I don't care about the Dread Rancor, fyi...

I am also fell really disappointed. Bough hyper pack, from 30 packs i got only 9 real Anarchist pack items. Really?? What a crap. I paid money for Anarchist pack not random other packs. If you like add chance cubes packs but not like this. Not fair at all. Didn't expect such low move from devs

Very disappointed. Spending CC on this has proven to me that I don't want to purchase packs in the future. I bought the large bundle, got around 30 of these cubes & of those 30-odd, I was "gifted" with about 5 "Republic Banners" WTSF?

There needs to be a removal of (or an update to higher quality items in) these cubes. I also feel that there should be some level of compensation to those who have purchased large bundles with hard earned/bought CCs.

A disgusting way to rip off your players & customers.

I don't post to these forums often... in fact, I think this is my first post despite being here for a few years.

They should have named this set of packs the 'Troll Alliance Pack'.

Since the Alliance packs/KotFE came out, I have purchased less and less cartel coins. I went from subscription plus $100 worth of cartel coins a month to considering allowing my sub to expire, and $20 worth of cartel coins in the last three months. This is not due to changing financial arrangements, but due to the changes made to the game, and more importantly to these packs (and CC purchase), the changes made to them as well.

Before the changes, with all the 'junk' items, you almost felt it was worth it. Or at least, I usually almost did. Then the changes came -- fewer items, with an even worse drop rate for 'good' stuff, poor value for CC. The special crates for bronze/silver/gold were cool and offered more choice. With the re-addition of jawa scrap and certificates to the packs, it was a step in a good direction.

Now this. Troll packs. I got a supercrate (because hypercrates haven't been worth it for months, hence my lowering of CC purchasing, and a supercrate is useful for 'testing the waters'), and only got two new items -- and they were the same item (double-bladed vibrosword). The rest... all chance cubes that gave very low-value garbage from old packs. If I wanted stuff from old packs, I would get the old packs, or have purchased more of the special category boxes. Most of the packs had TWO chance cubes. A double-whammy of old garbage.

To say I feel cheated is an understatement. I feel betrayed; I was looking forward to new packs and had decided if they were any good, I'd for sure keep my subscription and slowly ramp up my CC purchases. Instead, what I got was not only a waste of the CC, but a waste of the 30s of my time to unpack them. I felt and feel scammed. New packs are supposed to have... new items, right?

This does not bode well for me continuing to play and pay for this game, let alone get more cartel coins. I'm not even really mad -- just... disappointed. I used to really look forward to packs and CC and such, and now it's just unpleasant.

I've said it before the chance packs model might look good profit-wise in the short term, but it will destroy the cartel market over time. Everybody has a breaking point and after they open a number of packs only to be disappointed they will stop buying from the market or quit the game altogether. Better to just put stuff on the market so people can buy it. I'd rather pay 5000 CC for an item I really want than gamble 5000 CC on random cartel packs where there might be less than 5% chance I get what I want and end up with a bunch of junk I don't want or already have.

I think this is about how a lot of people felt. The odds of getting old 'junk' is too high.

While some people want to say it's borderline fraud etc, you do your research before you buy anything from a car dealer yea? You research a little on your computer etc etc to make sure you're not buying a product that's shoddy or has hidden 'catches', you should be checking what 'limited time offers' are going and be suspicious of the place that is always doing 'huge bargain sales, up to 50% off!' on everything.

This is no different. When the chance cubes were introduced, many of us *****ed about it right off. We knew as early as the 27th of January that things were about to change and the cubes were coming in this pack. They even had a description of what they were below.

Hey folks,

As you may know, our Cartel Market team has been making constant adjustments to how packs work, since our rework in Fallen Empire. We have heard in the past few months a lot of feedback from players that they really like the functionality of the “Grand Packs.” Think of anything from the Bronze, Silver, Gold Packs to the old Grand packs we released last year. Because of this, we are making some changes to the new pack which will release with 4.1.

Currently when you open a Cartel Market pack, this is what you receive:

  • 2 items from the pack (Mounts, Decorations, etc)
  • 1 rank 5 or 6 Companion Gift
  • 1 Scrap

When you open the new Anarchist Pack in 4.1 you will receive the following:

  • 2 items- either a new item from the pack (Mounts, Decorations, etc) or a Grand Chance Cube (more on this in a second)
  • 1 rank 5 or 6 Companion Gift
  • 1 Scrap

Now you are asking, what is the Grand Chance Cube? Think of it as the ultimate Grand Pack. Inside a Grand Chance Cube you have a chance to receive any available Cartel Market Pack item, including from the current Pack. Also, the Grand Chance Cube acts as a Grand Pack in that if you open an Armor Lootbox, it will contain the entire armor set, not just a few pieces.

This change allows us to place more emphasis on the Silver and Gold items in each pack, as we are no longer building new Bronze items. Now, in place of Bronze items you will receive a Grand Chance Cube. This Cube can contain the rarest of Cartel Market selections, giving you a second chance at highly-desired items.

Due to the ongoing changes in the Cartel Market, all of this is subject to change. It is likely that more changes will follow in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions on how these new packs work and I will work to clear up any confusion.

-eric

I hate the changes and hope they improve and make it so new hypercrates give all... new gear... but I'm not going to hold out for it. IMO it was better when they had the assorted grand chance cubes of each category as bronze/silver/gold rather than the cubes inside the hypercrates.

I rather go for direct buy things - I'm more inclined to direct buy the speeder I want than gamble that the 1% chance drop rate will be in my favor off buying a pack - but at the least it would be nice if they went with new packs you know.... dropping all new stuff.

There are so many threads griping about this pack that it's hard to figure out which to post to, but I guess this is the one I'll choose.

I will add to this that I also will not buy any more packs as long as they contain chance cubes. I did not realize they'd changed the contents so drastically for this pack until I'd already opened a hypercrate. I buy the packs for the new items, and new items are what I want. I do not look forward to trying to off-load all of these bronze items from old packs.

  • I am on board with putting chance cube as a directly-purchasable CM item
  • Although I'd up the chances to get better stuff to 5% gold, 15% silver, and 80% bronze quality (it feels more like 1/2/97 to me from my admittedly small sample set)
  • For packs, I prefer both item rolls to go to items new in the pack
  • I do not want the chance cube to replace any other drops in packs, even companion gifts
  • If chance cubes must remain in packs, I prefer that they be a separate fifth item with only like a 20% chance of dropping (and an 80% of nothing)
  • I liked the previous pack's single guaranteed gold item in a hypercrate
  • Add cartel market certs back to the packs in some way, but not by replacing any of the current item rolls with them
  • I would be fine with dropping the pack to one item roll for items new to the pack if and only if armor drops are rolled into full set boxes (removing the upper/lower/supp boxes). If it is dropped to one new item per pack, CC cost should be reduced accordingly. People are paying for new items in the pack, not companion gifts and jawa junk

There is a lot of outrage over this pack, and I can certainly understand why. I also understand why some people feel they need to be compensated in some way because of it. My only suggestion for how to fix this is, step 1) pull the bad packs from the cartel market, step 2) fix the pack by removing chance cubes entirely, step 3) all unopened bad packs are replaced with the good packs, step 4) for every two of the bad packs OPENED**, send 1 fixed pack in the mail (minimum 1), round down. People who opened 100 bad packs would get 50 good packs in the mail. People who opened 11 bad packs would get 5 good packs in the mail. This would hopefully replace the majority (but not all) of the chance cube pulls with actual items from the pack. The Unstable sabers would remain a rare pull but would now be common enough to drop the price to approximately what rare pulls from previous packs are.

** I am making the assumption that everything done in the game is logged in some way, so they would be able to compile this data.

The worst part about this scam is how now that they have eliminated bronze level items, if you want to unlock any item, be it a crystal (which were almost always bronze, any weapon, or any armor, then you need to drop at least 240cc instead of 60.

If I have to spend that much to unlock something then I am way less likely to get it in the first place.

I'm late to the party but I still want to throw in my two bits worth and basically agree with everyone else.

I bought 30 packs. I obtained THREE items that I wanted.

At first I wasn't upset -- I figured that I'd sell the unwanted items in the GTN and spend the credits to buy the things I really did want. Unfortunately, it turned out that most of the items I received were "junk" that sells for at most 45k credits. That won't buy me much.

I had high hopes that there would be some cartel certificates in the packs, but obviously not.

I do want to say that as a relatively new player, I love the idea of getting things from older packs. It's really my only shot at getting them. I guess cubes with a random chance of older items need to be a separate deal.

I would love Grand Chance Cubes if I could at least pick the category of the random item that I would receive. IE: Armor, Ranged Weapon, Melee Weapon, Decoration, Vehicle, Pet, Emote, and so forth. Combining a random chance of a low end item on top of a random chance of an item from the wrong category --- well, the odds of getting something I want are astronomically low.

As a new player, this was SW:TOR's big chance to get me on board with spending my money. I really feel that it was wasted. I won't make that mistake a second time. I'll wait for news that my odds of getting something I want or can at least sell/trade are better than a fraction of one percent.

When people start throwing the word fraud around then Bioware should pay attention. Everyone knows these are "chance" packs or "gambling" packs and nobody minds gambling on getting some items they already have or don't need but when you give people NOTHING but old crap then that defeats the whole purpose and it starts to feel like fraud. If Bioware won't listen then speak with your wallets instead. Boycott the Cartel Market and do NOT buy any packs. People keep shelling out money in the hopes that they and they alone are the exception to the rules and that they will be the one to win. This isn't the lottery and there are NO winners right now. I love the idea of getting old stuff from packs but they are going about it very poorly. Just release a retro pack or better yet bring back the gold, silver and bronze mount, armor, weapons packs so then people can get what they actually want. I love how those permanent packs only lasted for a month or two and then they pulled this. It almost feels like a bait and switch and I really hope that Bioware will listen and correct this. This has been one huge disaster so people stop rewarding them. Stop buying them and it will change.
