Vlaid
Seems like once all the melee/short range classes get their snare, I become melee fodder. I do fine skirmishing, but once a melee really locks on me there's nothing I can do about it. Since everything I do is based around dots, it's kinda hard to cc someone with my hard cc to get any healing and I can't gain any distance (unless there's a ledge) to heal myself or do anything real to them. Just feeling like trooper pvp is extremely....gimmicky and frustrating. Either you're dominating if people ignore you, or you're spending half the game in the spawn bubble when you die everytime a melee or two even looks at you. Basically it feels like I have maybe enough time to keep 1 melee off me for a very short amount of time, but in group pvp I just crumple when I can't deal with even mild focus from melee. What am I doing wrong here? I'm specced into assault specialist to try and get some more survivability and snare them a bit with shots on the run. I'd consider myself a relatively experienced PVPer in a large number of MMO's but it feels like I just don't have enough tools to do much. I've looked up what I get going up to 50 (37 now) and it doesn't look like it gets any better.
Domiinick
Not to be rude, but a commando is actually very good at anti-melee. You have your concussion charge just as a base, which is a nice 'get away from me!' as well as the slow, and if you're gunnery, you can get another knock back with your stock strike. Couple that with pretty good damage, heavy armor, and reactive shield..? I'm not sure what problem you're having with melee. Only advice I can offer, is you need to push them back somewhat, and just start hammering them with damage, since that's what you're best at. Well, unless you're healer. Only other thing I can think of, is learn how the melee classes work, so you better understand when to use knock backs and stuns. For example, if you bait a marauder into using his leap at you, you can easily knock him back and just tear him up before the slow wears off. Even if he uses his unleash to get out of the slow, you can toss a cyro nade on him, and keep up the damage. Hope what little I said helps. Just don't think you're fodder when it comes to melee.
