Star Fortress Heroic no longer soloable...

Just tried it as well.

 

My Setup:

Companion set to healing stance (inf lvl 31 & I have all datacrons)

Think I have all Alliance buffs

Picked up 2 Alliance abilities

No Heroic Moment

Can use Advanced Anodyne Versatile Stim

Can use Advanced Anodyne Medpac

Can use Class buff ability

 

Madnesss Sorc with 216 gear (220 MH/OH, pvp implants/earpiece & relics). All 208 augmented.

 

Cleared Belsavis Heroic Mode SF without dying once. At one point I had to use Barrier and at one or two more occasions I was considering using it but didn't. I haven't done progress raiding since S&V (2 years?) and at this point I rarely do PVE at all. It is not super easy, but it is hardly even close to difficult and certainly not impossible.

I'm sure very good players can make it through. it will take them a bit of time and planning, but they will make it through. just to prove a point. is it fun though, especially for the rest of us?

 

tuning essentially meant to be soloed content for the top 10% or less of the player base? when there's nothing else to do at end game? I don't know, but if you ask me? its a bad design.

 

like that dude who soloed it on a balance sage. stating to average 6k dps. for reference, top balance sage according to parseley leaderboards? on a target dummy (so zero movement) does about 6.4k dps.

 

for another comparison? people of that skill level? have been soloing lvl 60 hardmode flashpoints - at lvl 60.

 

just becasue select few can do it? doesn't make it a balanced difficulty. in fact - quite the opposite.

 

edited to add. there are people who find anything that is not Dark Souls level difficulty - too easy. and those people should have an MMO or several to cater to them. I believe wildstar tried it. the problem is.... people that hardcore? are a niche market. Star wars IP? is not.

My gear is 208 gear with blue augments on the armor pieces. No augments on earpiece, implants or relices. I have a couple of 216 pieces.

 

Now granted, I was playing a dps sage and kiting is always way too effective in PvE. But I am certain any class can solo Heroic Star Fortress with abuse of heroic moment.

something I think people are missing is that everyone making it through these are tanks/healers and have better gear then the H2 SFs drop so yes you can make it but what about the person who doesn't have 220 or 224 gear?

 

before nerf done on my merc in 180 gear without buffs after nerf went in with my second merc in 216 bonused gear still without buffs) was harder and i had to work for it but to do solo h2 should be dificule before any it was a joke first time i done it i didn't know u can get a buff at the start with lana at lvl 15 as heal it was just too easy

Based on OPs previous posts of how doing pretty standard things solo was amazing to him

 

I'm going to have to wait till someone else runs into his issue (or try myself if this install bug ever ends)

I just finished HSF Belsavis on my Assassin tank. I only have about half of the datacrons unlocked but all of the companion stories finished. My gear is mostly 208 with a couple of 216 pieces thrown in. Relics are only 168 pieces. Nothing is augmented. I had Lana (Rank 27) mostly on DPS but on Heal for the hardest fights. I also grabbed the Alliance buffs and 3 of the boxes that you find throughout the fortress since I had Rank 10 for all of the Alliance Specialists. I forgot to grab the fourth. But I did have the turret, medical probe, and the Force one.

 

I only died once and that was in the last room before fighting the Exarch. I made a couple of small mistakes in there and paid for it. I used the buffs and heroic moment a number of times throughout including that room where I died. The Exarch wasn't too bad as I popped everything I had for the fight and moved a good amount around the room to avoid attacks and let Lana heal me when needed.

 

But remember I was on my Assassin Tank. I'm not sure how well it will go on one of my DPS characters. It could get ugly. I think the main key is the buffs. But I am glad to have gotten that Solo achievement where you don't use the buffs before this nerf. Personally, I think they need to dial the nerf back some. It doesn't need to go all the way back, but I think they went too far.

That's correct, tanking companions were MASSIVELY buffed. They have real armor now, defensive stats, and pull aggro correctly.

In this case, really, really now, learn how to play. This is NOT Dark Souls. You don't even need to be GOOD at the game to win at it, you just need to have a BASIC understanding of how your class works.

 

You are actually meant to manage your companion, you are meant to use health potions, you are meant to only pull one group, and you are meant to use crowd control. Do this and you won't die constantly.

 

Death is something that is actually a risk that can occur, because you see that red bar next to your portrait? That's a health bar-- it isn't there for show. Though indeed before this much needed change it certainly was just a shiny red line to distract the player "OOoh, redness against the blueness. OOooh I'm not paying attention; oh doesn't matter, it's impossible to die."

 

Stop trolling people, it's making you look foolish. And most of what you posted is for n00bs anyways. My guess is your still downloading the patch and are taking your anger out on the forums.

 

Grab some bleach and clean some of the mold off of grandma's basement walls where your living and try to have a brighter outlook on life..

Never once did I claim it's easy.

 

If you have to move out of stuff, use all your defensive cooldowns or self-heals, use CC's, etc., then it's not "easy". I even pointed out that some melee classes will probably have to abuse heroic moment.

 

But it's also not impossible.

 

See, you are going to find this SHOCKING, but there is a spectrum between easy and impossible!

I tried it --- pre nerf --- couldn't do it -- no big deal; only 216 gear (mostly) and a influence ranked companion of 30 ---

I didn't expect to get it done --- it's called G-E-A-R --- and that will come -- so will a 50 influence comp --- I'll wait and see ---- no biggie ( don't know why this is such a big thing ... )

are you sure about that? becasue my Lana was dropping in healthy pretty quickly even on regular trash pulls. are you SURE you are not imagining the fix? or.. I don't know.. lying?
