WHERE are all the companions gone? [Spoiler]

WHERE are all my companions?

 

In the whole game you have about 40 "regular companions" and a few "not regular". http://www.swtor-spy.com/companions/

 

When the Add-on came, I understood: "You will loose all the old companions in the First Chapter of Kotfe, but later in the story you can get them ALL back and you can even decide if you want to take them with you or not (or take other companions instead)."

But ... I'm just before the ending of the new chapters and my Bounty Hunter got NO companion back .... not one (okay, I don't wanted them all back ... but .... strange somehow). He got a few NEW (old new) companions and other classes companions, but .....

 

Is it possible that Bioware just fool us, like: "HEY Kiddies, we delete ALL the 40 individuall companions (to mutch work for us). But it's great, and new, because you get 10 companions back, the same 10 for ALL classes. You will love it." :eek:

Ok, the Fan-Boys and Girls will love it, like they love EVERYTHING Bioware is doing.

 

But .... is it possible ... or .... WHERE are all the companions gone? They are not really deleting ALL the 40 companions to give us (about) 10 back (the same 10 for everybody)?

 

Please say that I'm just paranoid and incredible wrong ...... :( I never wished so mutch to be wrong.

Answer is easy, the story is far from over, so somewhere in the distance future during the upcoming story, you will get your companions back.

So, if I loved Corso Riggs and I had a romance with him it could be that ... I have to wait MONTHS till I can have him as companion again? Or I "can't" play the new Story?

(Just an example, I never got a romance with Corso :p )

 

So the two possibilitys are at the moment:

 

Worst case: They REALLY deleted most / half of the companions in the new Chapters! And try to sell it as "new big feature". :mad::mad:

 

Best case: The companions will come back with the chapters, BUT you can't play with your favorite companion FOR MONTHS (or you don't play the new Add-on content. :mad::mad:

Oh no you'll have to wait a bit for old things while new things stream in. How terrible.

Yeah promises promises. Having played and nurtured my comps for what, 3+ years and you just take them all away?

 

How cruel. I am extremely sad and bitter. Honestly, I did not expect a such a change in the game to have such a negative effect on me.

 

Having played through the level 65 story line and having established my alliance base there is still no sign of any of my comps except for HK who returned on my ship.

 

My comps gear has been dutifully stowed hoping that someday we all will be reunited.

There's a terminal that allows you to use them again before you encounter them in the story but the terminal isn't working right now. They announced it should be fix by tuesday. So just wait a few days and you can run around with your old companions.

HAHA. I met up with Qyzen again. He wants me to down 10 world bosses to get right with the score keeper. Of course, I will have to suffer being nerfed at what ever level those world bosses are at to do this. If this is how I get my comps back, forget it.

 

So this is the new content? Go run all of the old bonus missions to build my alliance?

Forget it.

 

If you use the terminal they won't be part of your alliance but you can use them without those requirements.

Also check this guide out. There's an alternative to killing world bosses. If you're a consular you should also be able to bypass the requirements.

No problem. :) I know the expansion has it's problems but the devs are having trouble getting to everyone at once so when I see a solution to something someone is asking for I try to post it.

I really hope this is true because I very much play for the story and I am seriously missing my fav companions right now. :(

The Companion Locator Terminal is bugged as many have guessed. We didn't have a fix ready for it in time for 4.0a, but are aiming for 4.0.1, which will most likely be on Tuesday with the release of the expansion.

I believe if you are the actual class that has Qyzen as a companion then you can skip all of that. If you're another class then you have to do their quest. And you don't have to kill world bosses. There are creatures on Hoth that you can kill to get what you need. Doesn't take too long. Just look the quest up on Dulfy or something. But if he was one of your original companions then there should be a dialogue option to skip the quest and have him join you on the spot.

I hit 60 last night, but I just finished Balmorra so I have a way to go in the story before I experience the loss of my companions. I was just curious what to expect in regards to Treek.

Popping it into spoilers since people get cranky otherwise.

 

 

Treek, HK-51, an early unlocked Nico and any CM companions (like the Nexu or Warbot) stay available, but certain chapters require the use of various ones of the new companions, no swapping from the one assigned for that story section. They get listed as 'unavailable due to story' I think it says? After the chapters you can use them as normal. But as you get them back through the story or alerts, the influence you built with the original class comps remains. I hope that helps.
