Found this email in my inbox this morning, seems legit as it's from noreply@blizzard.com, but I don't even have a WoW account nor I ever played that game.. Not that I care about a phantom account I don't even have, but is this normal? I'm sure I never downloaded WoW, so this came unexpected.

Please read this e-mail carefully, as it is related to your account state of Battle.net ID.

First and foremost, I'd like to let you know that we take matters of account very seriously. It has come to our attention that you are trying to sell your personal world of warcraft account. As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with the EULA and Terms of Agreement. If this proves to be true, your account can and will be disabled.

Click on the link below to verify your Battle.net account e-mail address:

If you ignore this mail, your account will be permanently closed. Once we verify your account, we will promptly reply to your E - mail to inform you that we have abandoned the investigation.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to keep your login information confidential. Account access can only be shared with one minor of whom you are the parent or guardian. Sharing access with anyone else is a violation of the game's Terms of Use. You are also responsible for every use of an account on which you are listed as the registered player, whether the use was authorized or not.

Sincerely,

Could be phishing, could be keylogger, could be a lot of things. Can't tell without seeing the raw html since the link text is correct but I'm willing to bet it points to a site other than https://us.battle.net/

If I move the mouse over that link, this is what I get. Haven't clicked on it, so don't advise you to do it.

Yup. Its a bit of scare mongering to get you to give over your password and what not. A lot of people keep just a handful of passwords, and as they have your email, that potentially could let them into quite a bit.

Anyway, its a scam, delete and move on (Oh, and I'd delete the majority of that url if I were you in order to prevent anyone else clicking it. I know you warned people, but someone will click it anyway... Then probably blame you if something went wrong).

Yeah I got that one as well ... why am I always the last to find out about this.lol

On a serious note I actually called Blizz to be sure they knew this was going around again. You know in that one in a million, why didn't I buy a lottery ticket, chance I was one of the first spammed with this.

well whatever it is, its definitely not legit.

even when I get these e-mails about the games I do play, I always go to the account site of that game from my bookmarks (rather then link in the e-mail) and double check there - since whatever issues your account may have, they will be showing up on your account page. and then when possible, use report phishing function.
