Need to break 4500 with AP

Title says it all, I can't seem to break 4500 consistently with AP, is it my gear, or my rotation, or just me being bad?

It's the rotation.

 

You can delay rail shot and energy burst, but delaying rocket punch and thermal detonator loses damage. Though that isn't the biggest problem with your rotation.

 

The biggest problem is that you are delaying the rail shot proc. You need it every 6 seconds because:

 

It's a CD reset on your 3rd hardest hitting attack.

It gives you a free GCD and 5 extra heat to work with for easier resource management.

It builds stacks for your hardest hitting attack.

 

All those delays add up to a lot less damage and a lot harder resource management.

Using Flamethrower is probably not a good idea either. It looks cool but isn't worth using on a AP PT.

1. Never loose any PPA proc

2. thermal det and 4 stack energy burst off cooldown

3. Rail shot as close to it's proc without delaying the two above.

4. Rocket punch instead of magnetic blast when it's off cd

5. Always Rapid shot after energy burst and sometimes between two magnetic blasts.

 

Rapid shot like so :

Rs>Rp>RpS>Mb

Td>Rs>Mb>Rp

Rs>Eb>RpS>Mb

 

Rapid shot always fall at the same place

To the gcd before next PPA proc
