I know that they are saying In galaxy far away , but if you look at maps of star wars galaxy , and Milky way there is uncharted space around position of Earth . They don't have long range intergalaxtic travel, but in SWTOR for the Inquisitor Rishi story is is suggested that it would be possible to send an expedition to the Rishi Maze So it is very possible that they could have come from the Rishi maze. However, in either the Paragon or IGN interview they are asked about where they come from, and the devs say they are from an unexplored area of the Galaxy.
