Harry Shearer is leaving the Simpsons

I'm on my phone right now so I can't link the article right now. I will edit later.

Harry Shearer has apparently failed to reach terms with the show. He is best known as the characters of Principal Skinner, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, and Mr. Burns.

I'm bringing this up because, well, it's difficult to imagine how the show can continue without those characters. They've lost important characters before (Marcia Wallace, the voice of Mrs Krabappel unfortunately passed away last year) but this one loss will remove four characters most would consider integral to the show. After almost thirty years, this could be the incident that finally marks the end of the Simpsons.

I'm well aware that some people believe the show should have ended years ago -- that the Simpsons has been lumbering on for years now, a shell of what it used to be. Personally, I still find it to be entertaining. Either way, it's hard to imagine a world where the Simpsons are no longer on television.
