I was in the middle of the quest, and messed up the dialog and wanted to redo it. I rarely reset quests, and didn't remember I was in an instanced part. After I logged out and back in, I was outside the instance, so I figured I'd try resetting again and it worked. It was well before encountering the mob in question, so I'm at 1/50. I have some alts to run through this, though, and now that I know about it, I will...be very unlikely to reset the quest 40-someodd times just to get the title.
