The Leia comic is not bad (the new canon one)

The gungan themselves are not the problem. It is actually pretty good to see in the movie, it shows something that we see on Alderan in this game...humans colonize a planet already occupied by a sentient species, take over and said population ends up marginalized.

As for having an issue with Jar-Jar...sorry that character is so rife with negative ethnic/racial stereotype he needs to still be hated (as should the portrayal of a couple of other aliens in the prequels as Jar-Jar is NOT the only negative ethnic stereotype in the game. We also have Italian and Asian negative stereotypes). The minute you say "oh it was 15 years ago time to let it go" you invite film makers to do the exact same thing again. Still expressing displeasure at the character of Jar-Jar is in essence saying "never again."

I express my displeasure for Jar Jar because he's a good example of bad writing, bad characterization, trite and overused racial cliches, and a number of other things authors and filmmakers need to stop doing. Some of the obsessive hatred toward the character is a little out of control, for sure, especially after all this time, but on the flip side Jar Jar was the result of a lot of really bad calls on Lucasarts' parts, especially George's army of yes men who were apparently too afraid to tell him "no, George, that's a terrible idea, just trust me on this I'm a professional."

In other words, you don't like X, so X must be morally objectionable, and if someone else likes, or is okay with X, then they are horrible people. If you're going to act like that, I know of a great place, called 4chan. May I suggest the /pol/ or /b/ boards.

No, it's the opposite. Whenever a goofy character like Jar Jar comes into any story, everybody calls him/her "racist". It's not just Jar Jar. If you are going to continue to be oversensitive, there are some social justice bloggers over on Tumblr...

Pick a routine for your trolling man, you're spreading yourself too thin.

You've already got the full-of-crap 'insider information' schtick going, but with all these references to 4chan and now using 'social justice' as a pejorative it just seems like now you're trying to do an impression of everything that's wrong with internet culture in general.

Plot twist. Fido is 4chan given voice and substance. Somehow it ended up here.

clealry 4chans troll posts reached critcal mass and became a self sustaining ai that will terrorize the internet this is just the start

Ugh, of all the sci-fi stories that start with computers becoming sentient that would be the most terrifying. SkyNet's got nothing on the OverTroll.

Ummm no he was straight up racist... does the cadence and sentence structure here sound familiar?

or how about here?

NOW maybe Lucas is simply ignorant enough to not understand that ethic and racial stereotypes are racist. That using the cadence and such we have attached to black slaves in the films going back to Gone with the Wind would piss people the hell off. That said, ignorance is not an excuse and trying to excuse it is being an apologist.

I did not find the Ewoks as anything more than annoying as an example... Jar-jar is something completely different. He even walks with an exaggerated 1970's blacksploitation movie pimp strut for goshsahes.

It's not about being over sensitive... it's just calling it like it is.

Lucas was the writer and director... Actors only put into a character what a director and writer tells them too. The sentence structure is in the writing. the cadence and accent in the actor BUT only to an extent...voice coaches would be out of a job if it wasn't for directors and writers saying "the character has to sound this way.".. so Lucas bares the full brunt of responsibility as much as people want to say "hey it's the black actor's fault" This is called a cop-out.
