Address pvp faction imbalance

Hello. I play on the Shadowlands server and since the server was created, Imperials have usually dominated in warzones. It seems that most servers are in the same situation with having one faction much stronger than the other. This imabalnce really has a negative effect on gameplay enjoyment and the health of the pvp community. While part of this is certainly due to player skills and server culture, another major cause is the disparity in gear quality.

Once one faction starts to overpower the other, it begins a snowball effect where the weaker faction becomes even more difficult to play because it takes them longer to get their gear. Players starting out on the dominant faction are on the teams with more well geared players. Thus, they are carried to more wins and are able to earn their gear faster, as well as probably feeling encouraged to play more.

Players starting on the non-dominant faction have fewer well geared players on their team, and their teams are more likely to be overwhelmed by the enemy. With fewer wins they earn fewer comms, and are more likely to get frustrated and play less, thus making the gearing process even longer.

My suggestion to try to reduce this imbalance is to have periodic events where players on the non-dominant faction earn more comms from warzones and pvp missions. If done for a limited time on an as-needed basis, it should help the weaker faction to catch up and give everyone more enjoyment from playing. Skill really needs to be the dominant factor in warzones and not gear.

The only way to fix this particular problem is to make any gear irrelevant in pvp. Not going to happen because people that aren't as good want to have some way to get an edge over someone that is just better than them. So gear is introduced to give you that edge, only problem it give the better person an edge that they use to make your life more miserable. They also use gear to keep score of who is L33T and who is N00b.

My suggestions, have unranked pvp gear irrelevant. Basically the naked guy is given the same stats as the fully dressed guy. Now you earn coms so that when you do ranked pvp gear is now important. It won't stop well oiled teams with a voip from stomping a pug, but it will give even the odds a little bit for unranked and you can learn how to be better.
