Because pvp is a very large part skill someone can gear quite randomly and have it make no difference to the outcome.

However the reasoning why you might or might not get accuracy is...

Players have 5-10% dodge chance without any cooldowns being used depending on class.

Players have 101% hit chance on melee/ranged assuming companion bonus.

So on a melee/ranged ability which is not a default attack you have 4-9% chance to miss.

Sages and sorcs don't have any white damage that they use so this doesn't apply to them but it means they eat **** when the anti-tech/force shields go up.

VG/PT do very little white damage, only 3 abilities use weapon damage and thus have any chance of missing.

Commando/Merc depending on spec do either a lot of tech damage or split it 50/50

Slinger/Sniper are similar to Commando/Merc output except one spec is very heavy on white damage.

Can't really think about the rest but if much of your output is white damage then the requirement for accuracy really taxes your damage potential.

Anyway, why do people go for 95/105% hit chance?

Because this is what the base dodge chance looks like across the classes:

Trooper: 5% dodge

Smuggler: 5% dodge

Knight: 5% dodge

Consular: 10% dodge

Only consulars have 10% dodge. Everyone else has 5%. Again, this is baseline dodge not factoring in tank stats or utilities.

Therefore to counter the dodge chance of 6/8 classes and their subclasses you go up to 95/105% accuracy. IF your ranged/melee damage is so important that you think you need it.
