If you join a group and the leader is in another instance, the game will ask you if you want to go there. You can also right click on another character in your group to go to his/her instance. I'm also wondering if there's a way to be anonymous, or will players who friend me always know when I'm online? It would be nice to have the option of being invisible at times. Actually I also get lots of blind guild invites - later when I'm not questing I'll spend some time in the game settings to see if I can prevent that.
