The event rewards are really cool but the event itself is.... SO MIND-NUMBINGLY BORING!!!!! I get it is suppose to be a credit sink, but couldn't we have had something a bit more, well, fun to play? Hell, the losing streak I've had would have made the grind more bearable if it were some type of gambling that was fun. I have such a headache. You could take photos of slots players and make a collage called "bored unhappy people" as an art project. Craps, on the other hand, now THAT's a fun game. Slots to earn tokens to play more slots seems, well odd. I'm hoping that this is the beginning of a slow casino overhaul, though I don't really like that its using an event format. I'm currently unemployed. I see no fault in praising a game I currently enjoy while being understanding and realistic of any things that may go wrong. No game is perfect (except maybe Pokemon.) I'm sorry that my optimism is such a huge strain on your brain. Also I have not hesitated to tell Bioware when I feel something they done is wrong as I see fit. I had fun with this new event, it might not be everyone's cup of tea but their experiences do not matter to me, only mine. When I stop having fun I will simply just leave the game and not make a scene. So unless you have more childish things to accuse me of, I'd suggest you try to be more understanding of the fact that some people enjoy things better than you do. Actually, I think people who play slots absolutely love it. The people who think it's boring and dumb don't play them. You might be confusing their look of concentration with boredom. Daekarus Posted June 12, 2014 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Anyone who believes Bioware thought every player would like the casinos needs to have Watcher X do a bit of tinkering in their brain. This casino stuff appeals a lot to some and not at all to others (including me). They knew it and their market research told them it was a good idea anyway because some people will really like it, it's a great credit sink, and it didn't take that many modelling resources away from far more important things: the Strongholds release and the next major expansion. If I were desperately looking for something to do in-game, it would bother me a bit that they released a featured event I couldn't give a bantha poodoo about, but I've got loads to do - more than I could ever finish, in fact, given the rate at which they release content unless I quit my job and stop taking care of my wife and home. TBH, I thought the introduction video was hilarious, and it's nice to see at least a little bit of "the real Nar Shaddaa"... and hopefully they'll see fit to expand on it as it comes around again - perhaps more interactive machines, perhaps they'll actually use the gaming tables in the other part of the casinos *cough pazaak cough* for something else. Not that I have any intention of ever playing pazaak if they implement it (Pekra is a responsible Republic officer, not some damned Sith floozy ), but a lot of people seem to want it. Maybe when will try it eventually, but not as long as the quick travel and emergency fleet pass are back to normal, that annoys me just to much to even play the game. Chrisweaver Posted June 12, 2014 Share Posted June 12, 2014 So I was pretty prepared for this event. I had 5mil saved up and a black/black dye to sell just in case I did not win the rancor. I bought 2 mill worth of kingpin tokens and 100k worth of smuggler chips. I blew through that in about an hour and a half with no rancor. Had about 15 gold certificates and the speeder. At that point I began to get a little worried and it dawned on me how small a chance the rancor had to come out. But as I was debating on whether I wanted to buy the cartel rancor on the gtn later I saw someone won their SECOND rancor. So I said alright I'm all in. I bought half a mil worth of kingpin tokens and 100 k worth of cartel. I smoked a bit to connect with the force and about 10 smuggler chips in I got the feeling lucky buff and went over to the kingpin slots. Used up 5 Kingpins and got the jackpot with the Rancor! I was soooooo excited. Overall I enjoyed the little thrill I got from the mini game. It only took me about 2 hours to get 15 gold certificates, the speeder, and the Rancor. I'd say it was worth it.
