Kuciwalker
Also it is a TOTAL benefit when your shields are GONE from attacks and saving you hull at this point with every shield point regenerated sooner. It takes more points of damage for your shield to be gone when you have large reactor. It takes 4 entire seconds of uninterrupted regeneration - seconds that have to happen when large isn't regenerating, and therefore must occur across multiple recharge cycles - for turbo to BREAK EVEN with large. Yes, it needs multiple cycles to exceed large's bonus, but that happens more often than you think.
-Streven-
This really is much ado about nothing. As was stated, a large reactor in the end doesn't have all that much benefit over stock shields. The difference beyween the benefits of large and turbo reactors are so minor that I believe they rarely impact whether or not you die. Just my experience talking here. The math discussion is interesting though so carry on.
Kuciwalker
Yes, it needs multiple cycles to exceed large's bonus, but that happens more often than you think. The absolute minimum total time from the first hit to the breakeven point is 8.8 seconds. More reasonably we are looking at anywhere from 15-25 seconds. That's longer than many fights last, and for the entire duration of that you'll have been better off with a large reactor.
