Stupid noob question about allocating power

So I learned that with F1-3, you can allocate power to your weapons, shields, and engines.

 

Now my question is, does that just improve the regeneration rate for each thing, or does it actually make them stronger (stronger weapons, more durable shields, faster engines)....

Sheilds get stronger. Weapons do more damage. I believe it's 10%. You can find the percentages in the 2.6 patch notes. Not sure either about the engines.

It actually makes them stronger! Your suspicion is correct.

 

Shields have that nice blue outer layer. Weapons hit for 20% harder (this patch, soon 10% only) and Engines boost faster while taking less power from the boost bar.

1. Any legitimate question you ask is not stupid.

2. Also keep in mind that extra power to X also = less power for Y and Z... So all you "MORE WEAPON POWER" people nerf your own shields/engines.

It is F1 - F4. F4 being to put the power levels back in balance.
