DEATHICIDE
I have been told by various people that: This does not effect lightweight armor (bypassing the evasion gain) This does nullify the damage reduction granted by deflection armor So what about re-enforced armor? Since this armor effectively seems to just raise the HP of your hull, does the %100 ignore cause your ship to explode once said cannon causes damage equivalent to your base hull strength, or is the ignore %100 really only applicable to bypassing deflection armor? Altheran
You have to understand "Armor ignore" in the same way than in the ground game : it ignores damage reducers. Basically, these weapons will deal the exact same amount of damage, regardless of what it hits.

Sindariel
Armor = damage reduction in GSF. So, armor penetrating upgrades only affect damage reduction and nothing else. Edited February 12, 2014 by Sindariel
DEATHICIDE
Armor = damage reduction in GSF. So, armor penetrating upgrades only affect damage reduction and nothing else. Thanks everyone, much appreciated! Devs should probably consider making this more apparent by changing the description from "Ignores %100 of enemy armor" to something like "Ignores %100 of the enemy's damage reducing armoring effects". "Ignores %100 of enemy armor" at face value easily can make one assume it pertains to any, and all armor.
Armonddd
"Ignores %100 of enemy armor" at face value easily can make one assume it pertains to any, and all armor. The problem is just that Armor (the mechanic) is different from armor (the component). They could rename the former, I suppose.
Verain
Well, the problem is that "damage reduction" is not logically the same as "armor". Here are things that count as "armor": >The armor component that grants damage reduction. >The base armor value of strike fighters (5% damage reduction) >The base armor value of gunships (5% damage reduction) >The base armor value of bombers (10% damage reduction) >The charged plating 60% activated effect >The 30% copilot ability These things are not all logically 'armor', and the stat is called "damage reduction" on the paper doll. The mechanic should be changed to "ignores 100% of damage reduction" or similar..
