Rogerlove Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I am just wondering if It would make sense to install from the disc to my external, as apposed to just copying the files over? If I do install from the disc, do I still need to Local information on each computer I plan to use? The reason I ask is because I am going to college, and also doing small accounting therefor have loads of downtime which I want to ball up in swtor. Crashedhardrive Posted January 16, 2014 Share Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) The problem with this is that HDD access times and transfer rates are way worse on something running through USB as opposed to a SATA connection. Now, that's not to say that it's not possible. However, the performance you get may vary wildly and even make the game unplayable at times because the HDD might become unresponsive or take too long to load assets. You do not need anything local to the machine to play, it should run right off the HDD. Give it a shot and see if it works for you.
