Can't hit a Ship up close?

I don't really know if there is a min range that you can't be within or if it's the lag compensation built into the game, but does it seem like you can't hit a ship when they are very close? If you get in a dog fight chasing an enemy on on their tail, you can just be blasting away non stop with the ship in your sights, with your reticule in the aim circle and not a single shot lands. Same also happens when you fly past each other head on, as soon as you get within a certain range your shots stop registering.

Find it really annoying since it allows some ships to essentially stop in mid flight and suddenly you can't hit them without flying a good distance away.

Protip: In close range scenarios, aim towards the front of their ship. For example, if you're coming up "underneath" someone that's not moving, occasionally "body shots" to the ship will miss, but shots fired across the bow or front will register. Hitbox issue.

This isn't always the case.

Check your weapons "Minimum Range". . All weapons have it. . .It's in the weapon description (Be sure to turn on detailed descreptions in the Star Fighter Preferences menu)

"500 meters Short . . 3000 Meters Mid and 5200 meters Long"

The short range is your minimum range at that Accuracy. . . Once you get closer than that your accuracy will sharply start to drop as you approach 0 meters. It nears almost 0 at 0 meters .
