Worth noting I've found that both with blasters and missiles you can't target your opponent until they actually hit you. I forget wat the default key is, but if you go to preferences > starfighter keybinding you can find out. Also in your targeting arc (the large circle in the middle of your screen you will see red flashes that indicate the direction atacks are coming from.
