Is GSF enroute to combined space/ground pvp?

If anyone remembers or still plays Star Wars Battlefront 2 you remember the space battles where you started on YOUR capitol ship, could either grab a turret, repair ship functions, or run to the hanger bay and grab a ship.

If you chose to grab a ship you also had the option of piloting a transport that you could pile up to 8 other people into in some cases.

NOW... wouldn't it be interesting to see this adapted to SWTOR?

Toss this image into your mind's eye.

You are an Imperial hero, you and other hero's find yourselves in a battle with another capitol ship. You and your buddies run to the bridge to see what the ordeal is and out the large bridge windows you see A Republic dreadnaught being flanked by corvettes and 200 fighters (the number isn't important) flying out to blow your ship up. Over the intercom you here a snarky female imperial voice repeating general quarters over and over. With the occasional update from command personnel on the integrity of the ship and the overall progress of the battle going on.

You and your allies head to your fighters, turret positions, or repair functions. Here is where it gets interesting.

Imagine defending your hanger bay VOIDSTAR style against raids of enemy pvpers? Where are all the PVER's you ask? Well those are the guys flying ships and getting in turrets all the while their pvp counterparts defend the ship or attack the other ship's hanger bay.

OMG, Ifolad you mean to tell me that you have an idea where, OMG, pvp and pve co-exist in a happy environment?

Now, so we cover all of our bases: Question.. Ifolad, but, but, but, what about when the pvpers take control and are left slashing the people that are trying to fix stuff or shoot capitol ship guns at the other capitol ships/ fighters?

I'm glad you asked: We simply define an area where enemies can't get to. Lets for the sake of RP say there is a "rayshield" (which we all know not even jedi can counter without a person/droid to turn it off) protecting the parts of the ship where non-combatants IE pvers are busy repairing/firing guns. Allow the enemy a way to "shutdown" said ray shields by completing some kind of pvp objective. Upon shutdown that area would no longer be habitable and would be "in theory" enemy territory and would kill/respawn/etc any non combatants in that area to the next area where they will have to find/figure out a way to accomplish something useful.

Any are that is taken over would need a means to re-aquire the area. EASY...., pvpers roll in to fight the other pvpers clear them out, hit a series of consoles "referencing to repairs etc" and then the area would be in "friendly" control again. Everyone is allowed to go about their business.

You could even designate specific PVE and PVP objectives into the battle. Those that want to JUST pvp, go for it, defend or attack. Those that want to PVE go for it, fly your ships, turrets, fight the other ships automated defenses to your heart's content.

Just an idea while i wait on the game to patch

Basically the Space environment would be roughly the area smaller than the dune sea on tat. Capitol ship on each side each with 2 or 4 escort corvettes and their patrol fighters. Each ship would have ground battle and would be suspect to ship damage incurred.

Probably a coding nightmare, but hey just an idea.
