VitalityPrime
I'm trying to figure out if there were any certain wars or tragic events where the empire killed many people. I'm specifically looking for an event that happened around 22-27 years before the start of the game.
Osetto
The Battle of Alderaan comes to mind. 14 years before the Treaty of Coruscant. 24-27 years before the events in-game depending on where you far you are in the story. The Sith Empire attacked Alderaan for little reason more than to crush the Republic's morale. It wasn't a remarkable military target, it was a place known for serenity and peace to the Republic (regardless of the shadier, hidden actions of the various noble houses). With the Republic's Navy elsewhere, the Empire was free to bombard the planet's cities from orbit while Sith and Imperial soldiers assaulted the ground, burning entire cities to the ground and killing a large number of citizens. Though the invaders were eventually routed and the battle was considered a Republic victory, the attack had taken its toll, leaving destruction in its wake and shattering all notions that 'peace' was able to be maintained. That is perfect...thank you very much.
