Erm...that's kind of the point of a duel. If you outmaneuver your opponent, you win. If you don't, the duel continues...Not really sure what you're getting at here, to be honest. And in reality he only beats him in lightsaber combat, Sidious would overwhelm him with the Force. What are you basing this on? Windu is capable of redirecting Force energy, and as we saw, the more Sidious tried to overwhelm Windu, the more Sidious just fried himself. Windu's strength wasn't just as a duelist.
