[PETITION] PVP in this game can still be improved.

Many of you by now have probably seen this, but if not, I wanted to pass it along. It originated from players from Prophecy of the Five server, and not me, but they asked if I could post it here being JC has a larger pvp community than most of the pve servers, and...I have alts here.. If you agree with the basic tenets of the petition it would be appreciated if you could sign using the link right below. Thanks :) ~Axxva

The PvP community and some loyal subscribers of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ are sick and tired of you not being dedicated to PvP, the overall state of this game, and the loyal subscribers.

Through your illusions of empty promises, many of us have decided come together to unsubscribe and quit this game unless you give us satisfactory responses to these issues and to try and find solutions to them as soon as possible (and please, no soon™):

Ranked Warzones – Removing PvP content is NOT the answer. You lied to us saying that Ranked players would get some love in the upcoming PvP patch, and continually led us on to believe you were working on Ranked Warzones.

That is until… you announced in this update that you’d be pulling the plug on Ranked WZs 8v8. Instead of listening to the PvP community, improving the model of RWZs and updating system itself, you simply removed it without even comprehending why it failed at all.

Your team failed to introduce a matchmaking system—which, by the way, was said to come when Season 1 would start—that would almost always create legitimate matches.

Additionally, you announce the removal of RWZs a bit after you implement server transfers. People spent a lot of money transferring their characters to servers where competitive PvP was more prevalent and healthy, and once they heard this there were a lot of players that left the game and guilds that disbanded indefinitely (or more so for good) because they felt cheated of their money and that there was going to be less PvP content.

Did you actually think that PvP players and guilds would stay after you announced the removal of RWZs? Although we’d get a new system in place—Warzone Arenas—PvP’ers were more concerned with the development of RWZs and additional class balance for PvP. It is because of this drastic change that more PvP’ers became so appalled to finally remove themselves from this game.

Spoiler

Now, even the PvP community itself is indirectly responsible for this tragedy.

One of the main issues why more players could not queue was that the top Ranked PvP guilds wouldn't recruit anyone unless they wanted you. End of story. Pretty much all of the top PvP guilds never recruited with an “open door policy”.

Additionally, newly formed PvP guilds couldn't get off the ground without a good number of PvP'ers. Most of them have to be skilled in Warzones too, so other PvP'ers that were not in the guild could realize how good the POSSIBLE upcoming PvP guild would be for their faction.

Speaking as a hardcore and avid PvP'er, let me say that the pool of available players to recruit for a hardcore and avid PvP guild is miniscule. Try skilled, geared and available to recruit? Now you're just trying your luck on winning the lotto…

That being said, I hope the “combat team” realizes that this solves absolutely nothing. Overall, the removal and failure of this aspect was on you guys… not the players. You said we’d get a matchmaking system with the introduction of Season 1 and failed, and because of that, RWZs saw little participation. Again, that’s on you… not the players. Even with that, removing the system without consulting what was left of the PvP player-base is just plain awful.

Now, the players and communities for this petition request that you stop the removal of RWZs 8v8. If it happens to be removed, we request that you bring it back in 2.5.

PvP Rewards and Missions – This thread has been up since June 11th, with over 40 pages and tons of signatures.

We would like a response around 2.4 and implementation of improved rewards/features by 2.6 (such as something like this). It’s ridiculous how we have to put up with such measly rewards, with only 2 (lowbie PvP) or 3 (endgame PvP) PvP missions to work with.

Many of us feel like you are trying to force us to enter a play style we loathe with a fiery passion (e.g. dailies, FPs, etc.), and as for crafting, it costs us credits to advance which can be detrimental to the little we already earn.

Some players have brought up the issue of “Chinese credit sellers” trying to exploit the rewards if they were buffed, but with a vote-to-kick option in place and an automatic boot for 1 minute of inactivity at the spawn area it makes it a lot harder for anyone to try and exploit the rewards.

Additionally, the PvP community finds it completely absurd that we’ll get no credit whatsoever for the daily and weekly missions for Ranked Arenas. You’re making it to where there’s even less of an incentive to participate in Ranked Arenas.

Players who participate in Ranked PvP should be getting more rewards and incentives for doing them, not less and slashing the incentives to do them.

You need to learn that enough’s enough. This won’t help the PvP community one bit. We’re requesting that this be changed as soon as possible.

Rejoin WZ After Disconnect – By 2.5, we request that you address the suggestion of rejoining WZ matches after disconnecting.

In PvE, players who disconnect have a period of time of being able to get back into the group they were in. Why doesn’t this work for at least Ranked WZs for PvP? Once one team loses a player due to a disconnect in their Ranked match, they automatically lose.

This is probably one of the biggest gripes the Ranked community has, after the removal of RWZs 8v8.

Friends of SWTOR – By 2.4, we expect that you fix the issues with the referral program, compensate everybody that you have wronged and own up to your unprofessional behavior regarding the mismanagement of this feature.

Many of us (even me included) have used this program and have followed each and every step to the letter, and were never given credit for our rewards. Some of us have even provided proof; such as pictures, our friends’ account information, etc. to show Customer Service that we need to be compensated to what the program said we’d receive.

This is fraud and false advertising. This is a pay-to-play feature as seen in the conditions that apply, and those who have utilized this feature correctly (and pretty much, all of us have) should be getting the rewards we’re entitled to.

There are already two major threads surrounding the issue.

Subscriber Benefits – Stop charging loyal subscribers for features that should be free. Even if discounted, it’s ridiculous that we have to pay with real life money/CC to utilize the Collections feature and the Appearance Designer.

If you don’t want to make it free (not EVERYTHING should be free), allow loyal subscribers to utilize credits as well. Maybe have it revolve around the subscription payment method too, where subscribers who pay for a 6-month recurring subscription have the best benefits.

We request an update on this by 2.5, or when you introduce a new feature that should be completely free to subscribers.

Class Balance and Bugs – Warzone Arenas are dropping soon when they shouldn’t be. The way classes are right now, there are many specs that are just not ready for it. I can guarantee there will be many teams running with 2 Op/Scoun healer or 1 Op/Scound healer and 1 Tank, and 2 Knight/Warrior Smashers.

Class balance in this game is a complete joke, and saying certain classes are FOTM is a complete understatement. Class balance updates happen every 5 to 6 months and it feels like A YEAR. At the moment, Op/Scoun healers and Focus Knights/Rage Warriors are FOTY class specs.

We’re requesting that major class balance changes happen during the 2.4–2.6 timeframe because it’s ridiculous how there are dozens and dozens of posts giving you factual information, statistics, pictures—just about everything your “combat team” needs—so they can be enlightened that this is more than a “learn to play” issue.

Additionally, class balancing needs to be expedited. With Warzone Arenas and new Operations being implemented, the rate that class balance at the moment is just downright unacceptable.

Lastly, there are bugs for certain classes (Knight/Warrior leap bug; Sage/Sorc Force Regen bug) that severely need to be fixed. They’re detrimental to a player’s performance and shouldn’t be left there to be fixed soon™. These should be fixed as soon as possible, but we’re requesting that they try to be fixed in between the 2.4 to 2.5 updates. A player’s performance shouldn’t suffer due to your poor management of the times when class bugs and balance changes occur.

Please make sure that you when you’re testing class balance changes, these classes can be considered viable in both endgame PvE and Arenas. Test the changes on the PTS and adjust accordingly. I know it’s easier said than done, but it definitely needs improvement because it’s not meeting satisfactory levels.

Public Test Server – You need to listen to your players on the PTS and respond more frequently. These people take hours of their time out of the normal servers to help test the game for you, and provide invaluable feedback so you can greatly improve an upcoming patch.

It’s because of what’s happened in the past regarding PTS assistance that not many are participating in the PTS anymore, and would rather just “test” the patch after its official release.

We request an improvement with the involvement of the PTS players after 2.4.

Ability Delay, Frames Per Second and Lag Issues – All three of these issues have been ongoing since launch. It’s gotten from good to bad, going back and forth and it just seems like improvements on the heavily modified engine have all but ceased for the most part…

After 2.4, we request that fixes with all three issues start rolling again and happen regularly. They don’t have to be at the same time, but it’s just so annoying to see these three issues still here almost 2 years after launch.

•Ability Delay thread.

•Google search on “swtor lag”.

Your heavily modified pre-alpha engine is pure garbage. You need to be aware of that and do everything you can to make sure your player-base has a comfortable experience playing the game without having to put up with this.

Forum Moderation – The moderation of the forums has always been amateurish and blatantly biased towards certain points of view and posters. Some of us have certainly gotten annoyed at times and have resulted to flaming, but by no means do many of us that have been victims of the harsh and unforgiving moderation come here to troll and flame others for the sake of doing so.

Certain posters can just keep on flaming without worry with no sanctions whatsoever but if you DARE to challenge their point of view, you get a warning for, if nothing else, being “off-topic”; even if you directly respond to something someone else said.

The forum contains some very dedicated “trolls” who attack, belittle and tear down ANYONE who questions or criticizes a change or decision with the game or its current state. These individuals look not to discuss or add ideas, but are here to simply tear down others, to add their snarky remarks and make others feel like **** for having voiced their opinions. The moderators and CMs of the boards tend to not really mind it whatsoever, probably because their biggest offenders are often their zealous defenders.

The defenders of this game and the moderators’ favorite posters always get a slap on the wrist, with, at the most, just a removal of their post(s). While on the other hand, forum members who are very vocal in posting their opinions that were negative, pessimistic, etc. about BioWare, EA, and/or the game get slapped with warnings, infractions, etc. until they receive a swift permanent ban.

With that, we are requesting that the forum rules be altered to be more welcoming to all posters of many different kinds of views. Additionally, purge the infractions that many forum members had in the past. There are probably many who had their forum accounts banned for such ludicrous reasons because of the faults, short-sightedness, and incompetence of previous CMs and moderators. We shouldn’t have to suffer due to past errors, mistakes, mishaps, etc.

“Endgame” – BioWare… today is not your day. The PvP’ers, communities, loyal subscribers and other types of players have decided to stand together, and EVERYTHING is on the table.

Some of you may ask what we want first… at the very least we are looking for acknowledgement of our petition that raises these very big concerns, and hopefully, BioWare will own up to their faults and try their best to improve the game for all of us by focusing on these definitive issues.

If you remove this thread, lock it permanently, relocate it, or don’t acknowledge the problems and address each of the areas of concern, then we will all unsubscribe (if we haven’t already) and leave this game. You have until October 1st, 2013 to give us at least a response or else we’re gone.

Did you really need to add this clutter over here. A tiny portion of the game's player base, 5% (or so has been stated) of the community utilize these forums... what do you think this accomplishes anyway?

Between all the complaint threads on the forum, I dare to say that Bioware and EA are abundantly aware of the complaints from this portion of the community is and... well, folks have had no issue expressing their individualized opinions to date and likely will find that your opinion only echoes theirs on some points.

Regardless, pointless... but like what started this thread out... that's just a matter of opinion.

An updated/cleaner version of the OP.

If you can't find the Ipetitions link, I will post it right here.

**My Quote is directed at the people who keep trolling this thread or just don't sign the petition because of dumb reasons even though they better this game, the other quote is to show that both PvErs and PvPers should just get along.**
