Every time I send a companion to harvest a world node, they would just stop mid induction and run back to me. I finally noticed that it happens anytime they have a bleed or DoT effect on them. Some snares apparently cause this as well. It seems more and more mobs at the higher end keep getting more bleeds and snares that last much longer then combat, this is becoming a major annoyance, especially with the lack of high end nodes (those over 401) on Makeb because of poor design. Losing a node to someone else because of a bleed tick to someone else after I just cleared a bunch of mobs is very annoying to say the least.
