Honor Duel Round 5: Jango Fett vs. Dash Rendar

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Honor Duel! Based on the classic Mandalorian tradition of the dueling ring, these fights will not include any Jedi–Force sensitives need not apply! The rules are simple: survive! Our next combatants are ready to enter the ring:

Jango Fett: The young boy who became a great legend, Fett was the son of a Journeyman Protector who refused to cow down in the face of Death Watch. When his family was killed, Fett became a Mandalorian, and was one of the most well-known bounty hunters in the galaxy. Because of this, he was approached by Dooku to be the prime clone for the Grand Army.

Dash Rendar: Rendar was born to a well-off family that was wronged by the Emperor when Dash's older brother accidentally crashed a shuttle into the Emperor's favorite museum. Dash applied for the Imperial Academy but was kicked out due to his brother's actions. Rendar became the second-most famous smuggler in the galaxy, behind Han Solo.

Battle Skills:

Jango Fett was a talented warrior, using a jetpack often to gain a height advantage over his opponents. He could defeat many enemies, including Coleman Trebor, a Jedi Master on the Council. He also defeated an entire team of Jedi Knights when they slaughtered his Mandalorian clan. He would likely engage Rendar directly, using his armor as protection and merely gunning down the smuggler.

As a smuggler, Dash usually ran rather than fought, though he was talented in combat. He was able to engage in combat and hold his own with the Anomid assassin Edge, though even with Han Solo and Eaden Vrill backing him up Dash was unable to defeat the superior fighter. Eventually Dash was forced to rely on his droid, Leebo, to kill Edge. Rendar would likely use his agility and endurance to survive against Fett long enough to gain an advantage.

Gear:

Jango used dual blasters in battle as his primary weapon. During the Mandalorian civil war, he also used rifles often, and his armor was equipped with many weapons, from flamethrowers to grapnel hooks. His jetpack had a rocket launcher in its tip which could be replaced with a longer grapple. His armor was made of duraplast rather than beskar'gam, but it was still a good defense.

Rendar did not arm himself with more than one weapon, as he preferred to run. However, his primary weapon was a DL-22 blaster pistol, though after some time he upgraded to a DL-44 heavy blaster. Rendar wore leather and durasteel armor, more than a traditional smuggler like Han Solo usually did. This would likely protect him for longer in a fight with Fett.

Who will win?

Where did you get that Dash uses a DL-22? He uses a heavy blaster pistol, a DL-44 from the looks of it.

Anyway...Jango has more versatile with his equipment, however. Dash did fight Boba, so he would be familiar with some of Jango's equipment the only real difference between the two is that Jango uses twin blaster pistols.

Dash using a DL-22 came from the novel Shadow Games, it mentioned it specifically.

Yet does it say that Dash used one? Just because its in the novel, doesn't mean Dash uses one. In Shadows of the Empire, Dash uses a DL-44 and his bio says he uses a heavy blaster pistol. The DL-22 isn't a heavy blaster.

I'm pretty sure it said in the novel itself something along the lines of "Dash pulled his DL-22 blaster from its holster." Regardless, I'll modify the OP.
