PvE: 110% melee accuracy needed?

I had been under the assumption that the defense change only applied to Force/Tech attacks, thats what it said in the swtor patch notes after all.

 

I currently have 101.13% melee accuracy(thus 111.13% force accuracy) as Carnage spec. I have been parsing use ACT to get a detailed breakdown of my attacks and to my surprise my melee attacks are hitting in the 80% ranges.

 

With a recent 5 min parse I had 90.14% overall accuracy

Massacre 87.5% accuracy, 133 hits out of 152

Assault 82.14% accuracy, 92 hits out of 112

Gore 85.71% accuracy, 36 hits out of 42

All my force attacks(scream, ataru so on) hit 100% of the time.

 

I looked through parses of my older fights and saw similar numbers.

 

Am I wrong about the defense change and we actually need 110% melee accuracy as well?

Offhand attacks have much less accuracy. That explains why you are hitting less. You really don't have to worry much about your offhand attacks missing as they do very little damage.
