  1. 1) Power and 'power' from strength don't have caps, only the 'crit' factor from strength suffers from soft caps. So yes if you where to use overkills your damage would go up. Is your melee accuracy 110% or your force accuracy? You only need 100 melee accuracy for your main hand attacks, accuracy above that will help your offhand hits but it is a relatively small amount of damage per stat point. If you want higher crit numbers get surge to 65-70% since DR heavily hits after that point. 2) Charge -> Battering assault -> Gore -> Massacre x2 gives you the best flexibility. From this point if execute procced you can use a crit rage return force scream, if it didn't but maybe Slaughter procced before you can use a vicious throw, if neither of them procced you just massacre a 3rd time. From there you go into the gore -> Ravage -> whatever you didn't do before. If you force scream right away there is no guarantee that you will have the execute buff. 3) In terms of raw damage nothing will beat power/surge, crit right now is not in a good place for many specs in this game. Annihilation will have healing benefits from crit, so you can consider it if your group is having a very hard time keeping up with heals but it is still a minor boost. Carnage is favored to have 0 crit rating and instead be spent on other stats, it needs the least accuracy of the specs due to the additional accuracy gained from Ataru form. Rage I have the least experience with but I don't recall any crit bonuses in the tree besides things to Smash which is auto crit anyway.
  2. Good call.. Can't believe I didn't think of that, it was driving me nuts. Thank you
  3. I had been under the assumption that the defense change only applied to Force/Tech attacks, thats what it said in the swtor patch notes after all. I currently have 101.13% melee accuracy(thus 111.13% force accuracy) as Carnage spec. I have been parsing use ACT to get a detailed breakdown of my attacks and to my surprise my melee attacks are hitting in the 80% ranges. With a recent 5 min parse I had 90.14% overall accuracy Massacre 87.5% accuracy, 133 hits out of 152 Assault 82.14% accuracy, 92 hits out of 112 Gore 85.71% accuracy, 36 hits out of 42 All my force attacks(scream, ataru so on) hit 100% of the time. I looked through parses of my older fights and saw similar numbers. Am I wrong about the defense change and we actually need 110% melee accuracy as well? -Regards,
  4. I was wondering if anyone found a good setup for using berserk. Tonight we had our first raid of the expansion and it felt really awful as a long time carnage marauder. Full rage berserk lets you use 5 Massacres and a deadly throw at the end since you run out of rage but I found myself in a lot of situations where I had berserk available but only at half rage and I was forced to either waste potential fury charges or wast berserk charges on basic attacks. I wish they would change it so only rage spenders would use a charge but it is what it is. I was wondering if anyone has a better method that isn't so inefficient. I ended up switching to annihilation halfway through which is a lot more fun now, builds rage very quick with the rage gain on dot crits.
  5. In terms of PvE: Operative: Can heal. Melee range oriented, good burst but poor sustained damage, good mobility. Sniper: Only deals damage. High range oriented, good burst, good sustained, poor mobility. If you goal is to be an end game raider, then snipers are for more rare and in demand than operatives for DPS.
  6. Lethality seems to edge out concealment in DPS on target dummy like bosses, however bosses that require constant in and out action, or lots of add killing will favor concealment. Basically concealment is better in short bursts and lethality is better during the long haul. They both get some advantages such as concealment have better vanish(shorter CD and can be healed), lethality has some ability to do damage at ranged.
  7. If I recall, corelia commendation has a 50 blue knife.
  8. I have been running lethality for two weeks now in both raids and pvp. For PvP the hardest thing is you need to think opposite of what concealment did. 1) Your damage is not front loaded, its back loaded. You won't come out of stealth and do 8k damage in 4 seconds, but you will dot someone and 6k damage in 3 seconds..5 seconds into the fight. 2) High armor targets are not your enemy, low armor targets are not easy kills. A lot of the damage is internal damage, even the two additional procs of cull on poisoned targets. This damage type ignores armor(or so I have read). While ideally you still want to attack targets with as little damage as possible, you are much better suited for dealing with them than other physical attackers. 3) Corrosive grenade is so very nice, it is excellent in pvp to slow people down. For PvE 1) Watch that aggro. It was easy to predict when you were going to pull aggro on a boss and have cloaking screen handy... because it was going to happen 5 seconds into the fight when you opened up with hidden strike and backstabbed. It is easy to accidently pull aggro 15 seconds in when you are not expecting it. 2) Cloaking screen, you no longer have the talent that allows you to get healed. Keep this in mind if you cloaking screen to get aggro off and you have a dot on you or something. (This also applies in pvp). 3) Watch YOUR dots. We personally run with 3 operatives, thats 3 corrosive darts that are usually up. It is vital to your dps to know which one is yours. 4) Watch your energy, its REALLY easy to go from 100 to 0 in a very short span of time if you are not careful.
  9. As per torhead, the 22B and 23+ schematics drop from raids, hence the raid material requirements. We have yet to see one(a few tionese/columni earpieces though).
  10. But don't expect some great veil to be lifted once you hit 50, operative dps is poor for pve, you won't ever see numbers like your BH. It will get better yes, but not great.
  11. Yesterday I did my first EV as lethality(usually I run it as concealment, but wanted to try this spec if this patch comes as is). It is a lot more complex and its very easy to screw up and end up at low energy, thankfully it has a reduced CD on adren probe and stim boost is quite nice with the spec. The Bad: TA is slower to come by. If you can hidden strike you get one there, other than that its shiv for your only source of TA. Now of course concealment has this same thing, but with laceration having a chance to proc another TA, it allows you to attack and use a stim boost if needed. You don't feel like you are doing as much. You won't hit for 3k+ on a single attack(unless you manage to HS the boss). Its death of a thousand papercuts instead of stabbing them a few times. The UI is very unfriendly to this spec. We run with 3 operatives(myself and 2 healing), so often there are 3 corrosive darts on the debuff bar. I can't just look and see when I need to use it again, I have to be very aware of when I used it. If we had an option to only display our debuffs, or make our debuffs larger or something it would be very nice. The Good: Better when you can't be in melee all the time. Your improved corrosive dart and the dot from your grenade still tick if you are not in range. So on the first boss of EV when you are hiding behind a pillar you can still see your damage ticking away. As a follow up to that, better when you can't be behind the target all the time. The 4th boss in EV for example, you get 1 attack and then you are stuck face to face for the duration. It isn't getting nerfed next patch. As much as this sucks and is a poorly designed nerf, it will have an impact on concealment for pve purposes. Acid blade armor reduction will hurt a lot on boss fights. For PvP you have a lot of utility in the spec. You do lose your massive burst, but corrosive grenade is great in PvP. Its an AoE slow and long duration DoT that can be used at 30 yards. Stops people from taking turrets/doors in alderaan/voidstar, and slows carriers in huttball. You also get a number of defensive options to pick from so you can reduce the CD on shield probe or evasion, or make our flash bang also reduce accuracy.
  12. Hello, I am a 400 cybertech, I have been trying to figure out how to get the armoing/mod schematics that are above what the trainer will teach. The trainers go up to the 22 series for armoring and 22A series for mods. I have looked on torhead and dbhater but they do not have locations listed for the schematics. I have tried the following methods: 1) Buying armoring/mods from commendation vendor and REing them. 2) REing the 22 purples But neither of them have worked. Aside from just absurdly low chances of #1 and #2, there are only 2 other possibilities I can see. 1) Raid drops. This makes the most sense, especially when considering the mats of the very high level ones. 2) Slicing reward. Have yet to see this, so I highly doubt this is the answer(least likely in my opinion) but it is a possibility I suppose. If someone could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Regards,
