NotoriousJay
Hey guys, I've decided to try tanking since the buff for shieldtechs in 2.0 but I'm struggling to understand the numbers people have posted in relation to how I should gear my powertech. So, with PvP in mind, what percentages on defense, shield chance and shield absorb should I be aiming to get? Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance. quirez
check out this thread : http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=626183 it also has a link inside to the math-theorycrafting for tanks thread in the Tank forum - both those threads have alot of information, but there is no consensus yet ;P some ppl support the pure math calculations - which is more or less about balancing all 3 stats some ppl support the knowledge they gained by gameplay itself - which supports having much more shield+absorb, than defence. ellenbec
Going to second what Yaico says. Right now this is way too early in the opening of things to have a "end all be all" thing. The math sits there as hard evidence and is what I am striving to work at on my end, but at the same time I can see why people would be preferring to sit with what is working for them. I won't know though which is best for ME and my ops set up until I actually reach an attainable amount of stats, since I was silly and didn't backlog any extra mods to shuffle around. MGNMTTRN
Just put all your points in defense. It is demonstrably the best stat for all tanks right now. Hopefully it'll be patched soon, by someone who can actually do math. Until then, you are not a shield specialist; you are a dodge specialist.
